If you don't mind sharing....what is your regime? TSS wise and which days when and what.

Race day Saturday.

Off on Thursday and Monday. Total TSS of 150

ergh - my approach is very unscientific, and tailored specifically to how my body reacts. If race day is saturday, I'll go out mon & tue, maybe wed, then rest thurs & fri

Prolly around 250-350 tss on the first 3 days of the week.

That said, its been so long since I last raced, Im kinda using races as training now anyways. The next "big" race is die burger, so i'll prolly follow that formula that week

No really answering your Q, but I do know that you shouldnt ride 2 days before the event, ie if race are on the saturday, ride Tuesday, Wednesday all recovery, ie 30 TSS or lower and then do a leg opener on the friday say not greater than 80 TSS

30 tss? thats like from my house to the estate gate and back home. I take about an hour just to warm up :/

With injury stepping in, this is the norm for me lately.

Slowly heading back to my desired CTL before TB.

so we all know spinnekop is sitting on a CTL of 100 (bastard!!) - whats your desired CTL for TB?

Ja, its really slow. cant believe it either, but the actual TSS for those rides were 21 (1hour recovery) must say difficult to keep the power down.

need those rides, atleast I phone my friends just starting out and tell them we should definitely ride this week, at least twice

are you sure your FTP isnt set too high?

90, but also dont want to overdo it, rather be a bit fresh than over trained(but it never feels like that is possible), I was hovering at high 90's for a few weeks and boom, injury.

No I dont think so, I still manage to do good rides above 0.9 for say 2.5h.

If it was set to high, I would've been worried. then there is really no power in these toothpicks

Quick serious question to the guys in the know.

TSS for the week before a serious race. What are we looking at total?

I know what a coach here in Pta told me.....would like to find out who does what out there....

Going on the Joe Friel advice, you should aim to reduce your CTL about 10% from the peak to the day before the race (so if you peak at 75 then reduce your training load systematically to hit 67.5 before raceday)

Then also try and get your form positive about a week before the event and around 20 on the day before the race.

Does anybody know about SportTracks and the Training Load plugin? They seem to use TRIMP (heart rate based activity scores or TRaining IMPulse) and I'm not sure if it's the same as TSS.

You can also use it on golden cheetah to manage TSB
