CTL - Chronic Training Load..basically how fit you are. You want it as well as form as high as possible before a stage race outing

That is how I understand it. Can you read anything of value into your "fatigue" score? I know it shows your current level of fatigue but should that also be at a certain level preferably or is form and fitness the only 2 variables worth checking.

 

Also, in the graph I got from you Rouxtjie there is a "race strength" column. Any more info on this variable?

It does become increasingly difficult to improve, law of diminishing returns and all, which is why pro's become so precise, pedantic, whatever you want to call it, because a few points in the wrong direction can mean the difference between 1st and 6th.

 

But for us mere mortals, remember all CTL/TSB levels are relative to your FTP, so as your power levels increase you can improve without seeing it in the CTL number.

 

In other words, someone with a FTP of 300w will kick someone's ass with a FTP of 240w if both sat on the same CTL/TSB levels.

 

So if you reach your upper limits, REST, then begin again but work on increasing your FTP.

Sounds familiar.... :D

 

"Race strength" was a measure I was experimenting with, the combination weighted in various ways between fitness and form, to try and find a mathematical optimal point that relates to performance.

 

Will tweak it as I do more races towards end of the year.

Ye~~ I did FTP test today. I got 4.3w/kg!!! Hahaha

Getting slowly better but Im so happy :D

 

Can anyone tell me which ppa group u r in and how much w/kg u get If u dont mind?

 

So I can be motivated more by ur w/kg!!

 

Im in J my goal is going up to either I or H soon ~ :)

If calculated correctly, that is an above average result.

Well done. There's potential to race well in the top groups.

 

Just remember that racing success is not about that figure alone, but about training effectively, about pacing yourself well, making good tactical decisions and reading the external conditions, etc.

Hahaha I used my powermeter so I think I did right hahaha

Now im trying to do a long distance.. need to maintain my power for a long time hahaha

Im so scared of doing one tonner !!! Hahaha

 

I need one who is slightly faster than me so I can push harder!! :D

New to Power meter training (on my road bike) and trying my hardest for a decent 94.7 time. Been off from cycling for 2 years but am back again and loving it, I started training in May on/off and was hampered due to recurring flu.

 

TSS

last week  = 849

previous week = 948

this week = 404 (so far) 

 

Planning a 3-4 hr LSD on Sat with a 1.5hr HR zone 1/ zone 2 Active recovery ride on Sunday. 

 

This is the most consecutive cycling I've ever done. I have the JUMA 55km on the 12th, how much riding should i do next week i.e. should I taper and if so what is the best way to do this? 

 

Appreciate any input

Those are good numbers. Well done. The other important thing is to try and get the best seeding possible. What seeding races are left?

Good numbers! What helps is a good seeding so any seeding races left?

Bit of a bummer, I'm doing the satellite classic thinking it was the last seeding race for 94.7, turns out the last was the Rand for victory.
