I've got the IP-036 - which I think is the same frame, just a different supplier...

Done the Attakwas, 100 miler, Trans Baviaans, Joberg2C and everything in between. No problems. For R6k (what I paid at the time), it's the best money I've spent on a bike...

Different frame, the frame Brad is ordering is the newer versions, they've actually brought out quite a few new DS frames.

I'm not enjoying the lack of brace between the seat-stay and the chain-stay... looks like oodles of stress going through the rear axle area where the two meet. I'm thinking of the Trance/Anthem setup here...

I've been following the thread on mtbr will wait a few months before i take the leap in ordering one...

I'd love run it as a xc machine but with 120mm front and a dropper

I didn't buy form them as their shipping was more expensive the IPlay.

But, that aside, I didn't turn up anything negative in my research into them as suppliers.  In fact, as you say, they are one of the more popular suppliers.

So, in my opinion, safe to buy from if the deal is good.

Anybody else you can recommend I look into?

How good is Hong Fu exactly? Would you say it is 'safe' to buy from them?

I'm looking to buy a TT frame, and they are one of the more common Chinese Carbon suppliers.

Is it a viable option?

Been around for many years and have sold all over the world.  They also have a facebook page and sponsor a semi-pro team in the far east  https://www.facebook.com/HongFuSports/

With regard to the TT bike hongfu offer the TM6 http://www.hongfu-bikes.com/html_Products/Time_Trail_Frame/2016/1026/html_products/2015-full-carbon-TT-Frame-.html

It is the same bike that CABAL are selling https://ridecabal.com/timetrial.html

I eventually bought from Peter at www.xmiplay.com

Peter has since left and started his own company:  http://www.xmcarbonspeed.com/

I had no problems with XMIPLAY.  Product was good and communication from Peter was efficent.

I haven't bought  from Carbonspeed yet - but Peter has been in the game for a while, so I suspect all will be good with them.  Worth checking them out...

my Chinese carbon bars on the commuter broke last week ... but then again I am not the first owner of the bars, so do not know the full history.

what surprised me most was that it cracked properly, but did not snap like a dry twig like I thought it would .... even after intentionally trying to break it after the fact.

Looks like SAPO managed to pull this one off just before Christmas. 15 working days via EMS.

Dengfu M06, finish seems good, weight without shock, headset, or BB is 2050g size 19", haven't had chance to put the frame through its paces yet.

Cockpit it also no name Chinese carbon, trying a neg 17' stem, hence all the spacers above stem.

Only things noticed so far is cable routing required the shifter cable enter the frame on the same side as the shifter. Not a problem if you ride your brakes moto (left hand, rear brake)

Also shock has to be fitted lockout towards the back, otherwise getting a bottle into the bottle cage is really tight.

Otherwise couldn't be happier so far.
