what are good pedaling pads ?

(knee pads) not something that will need to be replaced after 6months

Only have like full shin and knee pads now so just looking for the knee part.

Bit of A budget but expecting around R800 ?

Probably R30k

Cool, do you get a free Eagle Groupset and a pair of carbon wheels with it as well? :)

IXS Flow, very comfy. I've had mine for more than two years now and they are still perfect. More than R800 though but worth it.

The Fox Launch Enduro pads might fit your bill and budget https://www.foxracing.co.za/Launch-Enduro-Knee-Pads-181080.html

I find they do get pretty warm but I haven't found it unbearable. Apart from that they are hardly noticeable and offer reasonable protection, but I wouldn't consider them to be the best option for protection from rocks.

I have come to the conclusion that a knee pad is only as good as its fastening system. If it moves, no matter how good the padding is, you will get injured.

Quite true. Look at Gwin's boo-boo at Lenzerheide (?), where he washed out on a berm. His knee pad was ripped down and he landed right on his knee cap, slicing it open quite cleanly. The knee pad did the exact opposite of what it was supposed to.

I got a set of IXS Flows and they're awesome. Comfortable for long rides and they stay put when you take a dirt nap.

I am using IXS daggers, they also dont budge. Had few knee impacts already and they have made up for the price.

Found A set of 661's , had them on my ankles for the transitions but on the stages they pedaled great.

Have yet to fall with them but the marterial is super gripy so I doubt they'll move. Will report back once my talent runs out
