Hey Hubbers,

As most of you are already aware, there is a hot new bicycle shop called Ridgeway Cycling Concept opening in Greenstone, Modderfontein in the next month or so.

If there are any bicycle mechanics out there that might be interested in working there please PM me and I'll get you in contact with the guys from Ridgeway.

Cheers

So a new shop is opening and they have no staff?.. good start....

Well the shop hasn't opened yet... Like most businesses, it doesn't start fully staffed... There is a process to these things and staff need to be hired as required :)

Perhaps you do not own/run a business, if you are setting up in business and trying to put yourself in a niche that if we believe the hype is ahead of the game, then certain key personel will be in place ready for the day of opening, not as and when needed.

You employ a key personel like a mechanic even before the shop opens, even if he is adhoc servicing bikes from his garage until the shop is open.

A new shop opens, many cyclist in the area want to try out the shop and the service, so bring their bikes in for a service/minor repairs and the shop owner says "sorry, we are still looking for suitable staff".

You think these potential clients will come back?

They are still a month away from opening and are looking for the staff....

Sounds perfectly fine to me.

YOur post assumes they are opening right now without staff.

Nope am not assuming the shop is opening right now as staff who are moving from job to job will have to give notice and often that is a months notice, it maybe not the case and there maybe mechanics looking for work, else only on a weeks notice.

I for one whould have advertised this earlier to ensure that the right staff are available when the shop opens

Maybe they had a mechanic lined up and he dropped them at the last minute, so now they looking again.

Let us know when your shop is opening... I'd like to bring my bike in for a service 2 weeks before. Your mechanic had better be ready...
