One thing l learned from cycling.........

You can buy the best bike you can afford. .....When you tired they all weight 1 ton.

Even if that bike is marketed with words like technology, stiffness, stability etc........etc. If you are not fit you are going to die out there. And suffer you will. <_<

I saw an oke at the OFM last year. Brand new Dogma. He was on the limit in tne neutral zone. Once the race started he was gone in 10 seconds. I felt such a masterpiece was wasted on him. But then again, he can afford the bike, he can ride whatever he wants to. I think he just discovered that you still have to ride it even if it costs 100k. A harsh reality that mamy have discovered.

Hi Mr T,

I agree with you, but you must agree that riding a well specked bike ( expensive) is a real pleasure. As apposed to a Game special.

Have a good week

Mtb - If you don't keep on pedalling through km 85, then you cannot get to km 100 and say you did it all yourself.

Road - If you work with your team, it is a lot easier and faster.

(Both are true of life as well.)

You can't ride (train) yourself out of a bad diet ..... eat less, pooh more as Gnarly would say!

This is very true, but very hard to do.

I am battling to correct 30 years of bad eating habits...but getting better.

was 88kg, now 83. Feel like a different person on the bike.

Only 30 years  - over 50 years for me

It is hard but I reckon I've cracked it - I once put up a thread about what happens when you reach some sort of goal weight .... can you 'ease off' or go back to something that resembles a 'normal' diet but in my case the answer is no. This is it for ever I'm afraid .... at times I think it's just above starvation :cursing:
