It's not a trick. It's the only way to pull the hot cherries!

Bull ... I caught my wife's attention with my masterful dance moves .... running man, drowning man and swimming man is a classic that can only every succeed on the dance floor :whistling:

So I use my bike to get to meetings in town.

Following this thread I popped out a little while ago wearing my smooth soled shinny work shoes on SPD's.

I can get some lift off unclipped and felt controlled, but what was very interesting was when applying the same / similar technique on rises and lips on the paving or along the street the lift you get is nice and smooth ... it just feels natural.

What I am leading towards is that from next week it will be interesting to be trying the flats with my old takkies.

Hayley I know exactly what that feels like pedal knocking the daylights from your shins. My scars were so severe I needed stitches, well what do I know when you pissed drunk, also plastered it up like that, tried doctoring it at home, it just never healed up, turned septic, pas were oozing out of wound & the stench was unbearable. It eventually healed up after having to go into to the Dr, Today I'm scarred for life!!

They tried to teach me at skills clinic - with my rigid commuter bike and flat pedals, I think i can bunny hop over an ant.

will keep trying. Scared to wipe. Hurts.

Rigid is best, using suspension is too easy & a bit like cheating as it launches you in the air.

I care.... I care -_-

It's #5 on my list... see

10 things I care deeply about

  1. Unwanted teen preganancy in stray cats

  2. Royal baby naming

  3. Latest scoop on the Kardashian family

  4. Who the last Big Brother winner was

  5. Whether HFS1000 can really bunnyhop

  6. Stories about how drunk people got

  7. Turning off all electronic devices during take-off and landing

  8. American health care system

  9. Gym

  10. Putting moisturzer on my elbows

Depends on whether the bunny stays still for long enough

So the bold claims that you can teach anybody to do the hopity hop were in fact... false. No surprise.

makes no difference because you don't need your pedals to get the front up

I would say if you can control it, doesn't matter how long but not just a pull up and drop it.

I have a home made high jump bar, when are the hubbers having a hop-off?

lol, just some tongue in cheek. I know a lot of guys that are too scared to wheely clipped in because they are worried about flipping. They dont know that's what the back brake is for ..

But therein lies the problem, because they are also too scared to try and bunny hop, because essentially it starts off with a manual.

Mostly I practise bunnyhopping pronking over piles of horse pooh left on some trails by those inconsiderate horse riders, its much more environmentally friendly.... might have killed a few flies at the same time tho...

there's always one - or in this case, there was two of us that struggled (and oddly enough both of us weren't clipped in), the other girl did have shocks though - I think being able to use that "bounce" effect off the shocks would help. I'll keep trying though.

If your suspension is "launching" you as opposed to absorbing, then I have some bad news for you

I find the opposite, my bikes suspension soaks up all my energy and I cant get nearly as high as I can on a rigid BMX.

Maybe I need to dial out all the rebound damping when bunny hopping :P

Most mtbikers do what the bmxers from the 80's call a "P" jump, lifting both wheels at once but you cant get as high as you can if you bunnyhop
