When your bike is more than 2 years old a crack in the frame = happy times = new frame = lots of smiles

Don't try claim it off insurance as wear and tear. They'll repudiate it as non insurance covered. If anything, tell them you crashed and this caused it.

Been down this road.

Isn't that called fraud?

Did you not buy this new ?

If so man you are hard on your bike, but you make me go to have a close look at mine the next time I wash it!!

Edit, I see it was new. Have you chatted to the seller ?

What kind of guarantee did the bike have - two years you should be able to take it back and what about consumers act as surely one would expect a bike to last longer than that.

Bought her new man... I chatted to the guy I bought it from (the importer). He said that he has had only one case before of a CIOCC frame cracking and it was a carbon frame.

Thanks Guys. I have communicated with the importer and, after looking at the pics, he is arranging for a replacement frame from Italy... lets see how long it takes to get a frame from overseas

It had a 2 year warranty so well within the period for a replacement. I am suspecting a bad weld as it was just above the weld point.

Is there a warrenty, and if so, is he going to honor it? Cancell, you posted reply just as I posted this. Edited by Wannabe

Is this the end of my steed? She is insured but want to make sure that I am not seeing things that aren't there.

Also, what is the worst that can happen when riding?

Uh oh....you should have bought the Colnago......

That's the standard retort nowadays. Yours is always the first - as if it is the first frame to crack ever. It annoys me no end.

That's called insurance fraud. In my language, just straight dishonesty.

Yip, and then people still wonder why insurance costs an arm and a leg.
