Here is my living room... Built the rack in a morning's time with off-cut pieces of wood I got from my folks.

Buy your wife a bike and get her riding. Even if the hates it now, she will soon change her mind...

But in all seriousness, Hanging the bike on the front wheel should not have any effect on the shock or other components.

She hates doing any physical exercise and say cycling is going to make her legs bigger than they are. plus she prefers wasting her money on smoking :cursing:

Put in on the dining table on a bike stand, for all to see as they enter, displaying your pride and joy. Who uses a dining room table anyways these days anymore.

Your wife hates the Cycling, that's a big problem right there, sort that one out first. Then I would get the bike out the bedroom, the ladies really don't like bikes in "their sanctuary"

Yip! Time for him to find a new wife I guess. One that loves cycling!

I have the same problem...not the wife of course , but the little space and no garage, so this is my current situation..

In my lounge I have put up this 'room divider', 2 bikes hang behind it and one (use to) stand against it - I am basically sitting in my lounge taking the pic:

But then I bought another couch and it is standing infront of the divider now, thus bike had to move, now standing almost in the walkway towards the double door:

I am thinking about putting something against that wall that I can hang it up there, but it being a DS limits the options for such a 'painless/quick using/on-off' device (I basically use this bike everyday).

Sometimes the space is even shared:

And there has been times where I think your wife would have added another baby to her creche:

Hey all

So my bike originally stood in the dinning room behind the table but then my wife started a day care to help with the bills. Well needless to say the kids including mine all started to play with the chain and derailleurs so i moved it to the bedroom.

I'm quite happy having my bike next to my side of the bed, in fact there is some kind of calming effect knowing that the first and last thing i see a day is my bike. All i need to do is stretch out my arm and i can touch her :whistling: . But this has now become a problem for my wife.

I dont totally understand it as the only time she comes close to MY PRECIOUS is when she closes the curtains at night. I make up the bed in the morning, open the curtains, wash the floor, all so that she doesn't have to battle around my bike.

As i actually do love my wife, and she doesn't normally give me trouble about cycling even though i know she HATES it, i was wondering,

How do you Guys and Gals store your bikes?

See I dont have a garage , i dont have insurance yet as i'm still shopping for the right one.

I read somewhere that one should hang your bike from the front wheel, now i have a wall on which i could do this but as my bike is a MTB wont this damage the shock?

Sir if you have to actually think about it...............maybe cycling isn't for you
