You dont know me, I will be the same again.

Riding passed waterfall estate on my way up to the kyalami gates I got passed by a group of maybe 20 cyclelab riders,....

I'm no psychiatrist, but I'm going to take a stab at it anyway: It sounds to me like you're sour about having been overtaken by the group, and you were hoping that they would stop at the traffic light so you could try and catch up to them again. My advice to you is HTFU, train a little harder, and eventually you will be fast enough so you won't get dropped!

Cycle Lab? They don't ride that route! Are you sure it wasn't a group of 20 cyclists and you just assumed it was Cycle Lab? A lot of people do...

Definitely cyclelab unless other guys are all buying the Toyota cyclelab jerseys and riding with them all at once. Was the long downhill coming down from woodmead area and up past kayalami.am new to jozi so forgive my ill knowledge of road names.

Trying to stir me up hey! lol..... I was already slowing down to come to a stop when the group came past me and went through the robot. they then had a 300m lead on me when I got going again and was still able to catch the tail end of the group by the time we almost summited, so not to sour! specially considering they were all on road bikes and I was on a dual sus 26'! :whistling:

Yes, that is exactly the point I'm making.

But also the point that we shouldn't be so flippant when someone does something like that. Be very careful of saying "oh well, I'll just drive over him, sorry pal". The real world doesn't work like that. The chop's actions will have massive personal consequences for the poor guy who runs into him.

yep even if you are not at fault you will face a whole lot of unnecessary admin at best, and possibly some time in court if they decide to make a case, not worth the trouble so worth your while to think on behalf of the idiots around us, they are a special creation with the sole purpose to waste your time.

Here is my deal....

I hit a drunk pedestrian on her own in the middle of no-where at 20:00 on a Monday night. I can very clearly see in my memory the head hit the bonnet and blood splatter, the body ended about 120m from where I hit it. I initially though I had hit a kudu, but panicked when the castle bottle was wedged in the radiator.

It was pretty traumatic, R150k damage and recovery fee, and if I hit a cyclist now who jumps and intersection, I will send the wife/kids/beneficiaries the bills. No one deserves to have that feeling, especially for fool on a bike.

I had my first road ride this weekend since 2012, I was the only idiot cyclist track standing the red lights, most were bombing straight through. I caught the group on the open road, but I wont ride with them again.

I hate to say it but I saw it as well on Saturday morning. I was waiting for my riding buddy at the bottom of Leslie and Troupant right near Cycle Lab - whole bunch of 'em blasted the red as they stared down their noses at me on my mtb.

I use to be the one that defends cyclist all the way .. doesn't matter who's fault it was… After Burry's death our clubs decided we will stop at lights etc. And we have … but sadly i hardly see anybody even slowing down anymore.. i now see what the opposition is telling me and sadly my eyes are opening to the fact that most of us skip lights and ride like hooligans.

I will never forget our dear friend Burry.. and i hoped this would get us to stop at these places and obey the law but as anything else it was short lived. Thanks for the guys that still stop at lights ...
