Every so often I still get the odd Yamaha Marine Press release.

It's not Motorcycling I know, but it's power which we all love.

My guess is Billy-Bob didn't think one 425hp V8 was enough for his boat.....

Those CR500's were BEASTS.

Did one of the Peterson brothers not race this thing in the 80's? Watched him wrestle this thing around Syringa Spa in Muldersdrift.

Ooh, how I now long after the smell of high performance 2 stroke "perfume" in the air.

*Petersen

That would have been Gary, he was unbelievable on a 500. Wait he could ride anything.

A chap came past me this morning (06h45) on the Tygervalley Road (close to Jip De Jager traffic lights) on an RZ500. He was sending it a bit, as much as a person could safely do in fairly heavy traffic. I can still smell the 2 stroke perfume.

My wife could not understand why I first started squeeling, and the jabbering like a loon, all the way pointing to the guy disappearing down the road. Could not see the Reg no, to see if it;s a "local" bike or not.

MY DAY IS MADE!!

Know of at least 4 in Cape Town.

One of them as a full on hybrid, USD front, proper rims, JL pipes, etc.

Couple of GT750's too........

This bike still haunts me...... owners says he has also rebuilt the bottom end of the engine ... still 15K price tag on it.

Recons needs new fluids, shim check (I may have workdin gwrong here) and carb service to make sure she is 100% after standing so long.

Hi All

Any of you riff raff have any experience on the Honda CX500 ... may be able to pick up a bargain that needs carbs cleaned, noted that headset needed tightening (?) and something else I forgot, but will find out again.

Looking 14-16K ... waiting on mileage on engine.

This from a commuter that joins us in the afternoons, it was a failed project that he never got to.

My wife has given up trying to understand why I wind down the car's window to appreciate the sound and smell of a motorcycle motor.

My old man sold his immaculate one about 6 years ago for R80k

Many regrets now.

So anyone in the Western Cape joining the Cape Town Toy Run tomorrow? I will be joining the mass ride from Grand West Casino with my boy on the back.

Think being part of such a big group ride is going to blow his mind. [emoji41]
