Is motorcycling allowed?

I have one. I put it on a LR Discovery and have used it for a KTM 640 Adventure (at least 160kg) and a 525 (120kg).  You could feel the 640 a little but the 525 was fine. Just a bit tedious to take off the ball hitch (needed for Thule bike rack) and put the XRamp fitting on - I wouldn't mind a combo fitting.  So tedious that I bought a trailer.

Awesome thanks, Think i'm gonna get one then  ^_^

Spokey,

A friend of mine has a guesthouse in George and has offered me free accommodation. I may ride up there sometime in the next couple of months and if I do I will try to contact you to arrange a ride.

Are you a member of wilddogs?

I am , but not active much on their website. Message me here on the hub when you know your travel plans to George. If I am in SA we must do a ride for sure. I enjoy showing folks the great routes in my area!

So on Saturday morning  i was riding my manly Triumph and drove past a Harley dealer. (Guildford Harley)  Woe is me at the next round about i made a u turn and popped in.

Free coffee, which was good, and a lekker chat with a smous there and what a lekker experience it all was. Most of the ous working there had more tats than me , and bigger boeps too. And they pretty much gave me the run of the place. Lots of clothing and Harley branded stuff from the usual to sunglasses and watches. Real upmarket place which I spose is contrary to the easy rider image.

Must say Harley have a load of different models. They offered me a demo on any bike they had a demo for which was pretty much most of the models. I declined as the roads were wet and did not want to bin a bike that aint mine.

So, which hubbers have a Harley and which model? I like the scaled down bikes like roadster or softail models. Not the huge contraptions with all sorts of goeters.

Mid life existential crisis is real

Are you a dentist or an accountant?

If not then don't sell yourself short. Your life can't be that boring that you need to look for 'excitement' from overpriced donkeys when you could have a thoroughbred ;)

I used to knock the Harley thing but then a few guys I rode dirt bikes with admitted they had Harleys and explained the attraction. It is a bit like cycling (IMHO); not the quickest or most exciting all the time, quite a bit of physical pain but great cameraderie. The people who are into it enjoy Sunday rides, weekend rides, longer tours and trips to Europe and the US; all through their Harley hoggishness.  I was a little envious.

Good for them.

That’s their product, motorcycles are an enabler but they sell a lifestyle.
