My first movie was in the school hall, end of the term and they put a movie on the last day. I remember because the grade ones (me) and two’s had to sit on the floor in the front while the others got to sit on those foldable steel seats with red upholstery....some western no idea what it was

Woah that makes me think of a movie we watched at school.

You were lucky.  The Scopes from my era were all still  *     *

 

And then towards the end they were little silver squares that you could scratch off with a coin

And then you were tempted to scratch it off and have a look, but you couldn't as your dad would notice. So you would have to wait for him to get to that page.... twas where I learnt my patience. 

 

Once found a "newer" one, which had a few pages unscratched. My dad went away for a business trip. I couldn't wait. So i scratched them all had a look (I was 5 so yes, I just looked before you pervs start insinuating otherwise). Was then forced to throw the mag away to get rid of the evidence before he returned. Its funny how at the time, the few days leading up to that little mission gave me more anxiety than a SARS audit does now.
