The Beer Debate

Recommended Posts

There's the rub. castle lite isn't actually low alcohol, it's low calories/low taste. so it keeps you sober because it's impossible to drink.

c'mon where are all the fanboys, i know you people love this catspiss?!

Here is one....love me my castle lites...why

Well you can drink lots of them(I can't drink more than three other normal beers without feeling bloated and bitter) and for our weather they are perfect.

I love craft beers too, make no mistake, they just a bit "heavy" so can't always enjoy lots of them

I brew my own, and its so good I have to drink it out of red wine glasses - actually I don't have other glasses big enough to take a 440ml in one shot... . Currently I have the following in stock: English Bitters, Nut-brown ale, a brown ale (pic below) and an American Pale Ale (my favorite to date).

What does it cost you to make your beers? - wanting to brew beer too.

Jack Black Pale Ale and Mitchell's 90 Shilling are two of my favs, else Castle draught.

Must say, the hangover from craft is less severe than the one I get from Castle.

Night before riding though, try and not have too many. Rather save them for after :)

I like Castle Lite. Far prefer it to castle lager and windhoek light (shudder)

Now THAT is cat Piss.

I'll weigh in on the craft beer side of things, because I'm sure everyone has heard of Heineken and Castle lite before.

Citizen breweries is the best! Specifically Alliance, I've tried a lot of craft beers and this one is easily my favourite.

Old Russian proverb:

Lite beer is the first step towards an inflatable girlfriend!

In your case...nevermind

Bwahaha....everyone needs a friend!

I also brew my own stuff. After the first batch of 13 x 300 ml bottles the cost was about R 500.00 per litre. This included the money spend on equipment.

Now after a year I am down to about R 30.00 / litre. More expensive perhaps than commercial beers but much more fun. I've only had one batch that I could not drink (it exploded !), the rest was from OK to very good.

Some craft beer is lekker but they are mal expensive. I used to like castle lite but recently they must have changed something and now it is poef. So I prefer Windhoek or even Tavel lager.
