Barry Stuart Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) Man some of those shoes are ugly! Talking of which, have you seen the Asics Metaride that just launched? It's their answer to the Nike 4% but with that Asics twist of being bulky, over-designed, over-padded, heavy and ungainly. The DS Trainer is still the only shoe I like in their stable. Looks like Hokas. Ugly and slow. Dont think Nike is worried much.
Jaws677 Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Where are other Comrades runners now at the end of Feb? Think Im on 450km, aimed for 500, but happy to be where Im at now.509 today 550 by Sunday after Vaal Sent from my Redmi 4X using Tapatalk
Pieter-za Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 ODD numbers are arriving at Post Net's. (Although I entered practically in the first couple of minutes after opening, I didn't get a parking voucher although I ticked the option. Can fellow runners here let us know if you received it?)

Arrive at the venue at 4am and sleep in the back of my bakkie with cannopy on a double mattress until 15min before the race starts. Sent from my Redmi 4X using Tapatalk
ArthurPTA Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Saw her at Dischem. She came in with the 2-hour bus, though that is pretty meaningless given her credentials. She didn't look all that comfortable or happy but I know she went through a pretty rough year with both life and injury so perfectly understandable if her head isn't in it for 2019. That said, she's the type of person that could bounce back at any time given the kind of determination she has. Still, when you've got people like Anne already busting 200km weeks, it's hard to see how one would play catch up. But then it is Comrades and there are zero guarantees for anyone, regardless of their training.
ArthurPTA Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Who is your money on for 2 Oceans? I hear Irvette Van Zyl might run along with the polish lady from last year. Is Gerda running she is not doing any racing at the moment.

Wayne Potgieter Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 I woke up feeling a little hungover. Decided to go for a short 5km and ended up doing 21. I am really enjoying my running lately. Lexx, Edgar, Saag and 5 others 8
Jaws677 Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 How hard was Cape Vaal today . The last 10km was rather hot. I still managed an easy sub 4 but I think it must have really been hard for the slower runners today. Sent from my Redmi 4X using Tapatalk Andrew Steer 1
gno Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 Have a Two Oceans Ultra entry that I would like to sub for a half entry, if anyone interested?
Paddaman Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 I must have missed that one then. According to me the cutoff at Mavis is like 4 something hours and about 24kms? Edit:Mavis Bank TopThe cut-off at the top of Mavis Bank (approx 21km) is 4½ hours from race start OOPs, I forgot the farm house is about 15km in and it takes about 2 hrs to get there. The next ten km to the top of Mavis is another matter.......
