have you taken 2-3 weeks off running as well?

Close to 3 months now. Walk all day tho so it is not helping but with stretches and strength training it is slowly improving. Might go see a PT next week to see if they have different ideas as to what I should be doing.

Regarding the water possibly being the problem, if you consider how many people handle the sachets (with or without clean hands), you would probably have to carry your hydration instead.

for me at comrades I could taste some of the water was either siff, or very chemical. i just spat it out and ditched the sachet. possibly 3/4 out of 30 sachets. I haven't followed to see if it was a wider problem really.

Not sure entirely how it works, but what happens to unused water sachets at a race? Do they go back to depot for the next race? fine if it's next week, but what if it's a few months (or a calendar year).

There is of course a huge push to be more green friendly, can see sachet reuse being an issue that could go south

It's the 'most friendly' 100 miler in SA. Mostly runable and predictable.

It can rain, it can be muggy, but it is seldom freezing cold and seldom boiling hot..... Goldilocks would approve

Honestly, if you've put in the work it is the easiest crack at 160km you will get on these shores.

Nothing is too steep, nothing is too technical, too hot or too cold.... it is mostly 'just right'.... as 'just right' as a 160km run/stroll/march can be

Do you have any running pack recommendations? I've been using the Black Diamond Distance 8 pack for the last 1.5 years, and it suits my needs perfectly, but now, after the third time having to take it in for repairs, I am looking for a backup.

I need to carry a 1 litre lunchbox, a pair of trousers, a midlayer and an outerlayer at most.

Been using this for about 12 months now. Worn it for about 100 hours. Been bullet proof. Thus far anyway.
