Lovely bikes. Very very pricey, R80 000 plus for a xt spec bike with ztr rims? And it seems that there are no frame only options?

To be fair, what would the equivalent s-works or dale cost?

The pricing isnt bad when you compare it to the direct competition.

should have never sold mine...best geo on a 29er hardtail.

That ROS...mmmmm so much of niceness

Yep, is why will be hanging on to my EMD and Jet9 :)

Im actually surpised at their focus on complete bikes, always thought a Niner customer would want a custom build.

Agreed. Can't help think they're missing the mark (or an additional considerable mark) not making framesets readily available...

mmmm, a S works is kitted to the hills, and xt wont be found anywhere.

I love Niner bikes, sexy as hell. But a similar giant, Spez or the new Pyga stage is going to trump them on value.

Like every other manufacturer... its called a business...

Compare them to the prices on the U.S. site.

These bikes are horribly overpriced. No two ways about it. Who in their right mind shells out over R50k for a rigid hardtail with mid-level components? For similar cash (in Europe) you can get a Canyon Strive CF 8.0.

Now tell me, which of these bikes would've cost more to R&D, build and spec?

Both are probably fairly similar in RnD costs... Carbon technology is not pushed forward by little bicycle companies, they take the tech already available and use it for their purposes, similarly to the steel used in bikes...

But arguing over someones opinion is useless. I know my MCR is fantastic.

If I had the money to buy one of these would I? Yes! Would I buy a carbon bike ever..? No.

Our currency is struggling and these prices are up as a result. Nothing they can do.

But back to the bikes.... Look at the rlt 9!!!! Just take it in!!! I need that hanging off the wall in my lounge!! Steel cx porn... Nom nom

Agreed, better value in terms of giant or Pyga but its direct competition Im assuming would probably be an s-works epic and that is *substantially* more expensive, the price difference is about that of the kit it comes out with.

Im not trying to argue or be funny but I see it being in similar lines to other high end brands.

"Re the frames, those prices will be up on the site in the next week. If you would like to know pricing in the mean time, drop us a mail and we will send you those.

Cheers,

Team Niner"

I never brought a comparison into the discussion.

I agree, the full builds are expensive but my statement referred to the prices being inline with the global prices of the brand. To achieve this alone Niner SA have done well.

I do feel they'll do well to push frame set sales as these seem to offer more value against competitor offerings. The price points vs full build specs just don't add up to me I'm afraid.

And you'd know. R15.5k for a Codeine frameset with awesome suspension vs nearly double that for what, heritage? Or R18k-R20k for a Pascoe set.

Sorry,but no.
