Sean32 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Saw a whole lot of Cops and JMPD this morning near the Pick and Pay +- 30 cars. Looks like they were arresting the vagrants. I also saw a lot of smoke coming from the trees were they normal keep there plastic. Anyone got some more info about this. This was around 6:30am.
Jigghead Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 A mate of mine was riding The Spruit this morning, he said the smoke you saw was teargas and that they were busy with a drug bust. Perhaps that's where the weekend warriors get their EPO?

I know there has been a big drive by Northcliff residents to get rid on vagrants 'living' on the Spruit due to the amount of crime happening in the area, maybe they managed to convince SAPS to do something about.

I must say that wasn't tear gas. it was that dark black look almost like tyres burning and bellowing.
worriesnot Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 We passed through there this morning - just behind William nicol PnP.No teargas...They were burning the piles of rubbish these guys accumulate. Wasn't nice riding through that smoke.There was a drug bust in Sandhurst - heard that on the radio - but was not related to the trash burning at all.

Nice to see police presence, but we didnt see anyone being arrested (mind you i couldnt see much with my eyes stinging from the pepper spray)

Danger Dassie Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 SAPS/JMPD/CSS were also out in force the other evening on the Spruit near Delta Park clearing the area out. There were one or two muggings recently, apparently from the same guy and he was armed with a pistol.

Would it not work for the law abiding citizens too. This thread made me think... (Sorry, slow day at the office and terrible schooling)
