shaper Posted November 22, 2017 Share I am giving up with the Garmin sync, It only syncs one out of every 6 or 7 activities and I then have to get them to manually import activities. Very frustrating. You sync via your phone or via garmin express and a laptop/PC? By phone there is no issue for me, almost instant after opening the garmin app. Very occasionally if i use garmin express/PC I have sync issue. Veebee Posted November 22, 2017 Share I am giving up with the Garmin sync, It only syncs one out of every 6 or 7 activities and I then have to get them to manually import activities. Very frustrating. I noticed the app doesnt work 100% on a saturday morning, and it takes a while for the saturday morning activity to go through, but apart from that there's no other issues with Garmin/Disco, using 2 garmin devices. mecheng89 Posted November 22, 2017 Share Question on Activity Rewards. From what I can see you don't earn rewards if you ride on Zwift although its linked to Garmin connect. It look as if the activity must be recorded by your Garmin device in order to get the pointsIs this correct.Yes. I once recorded an activity using the spartan Wattbike app, exported the activity file to Garmin Connect, but Vitality did not recognize the activity. So always record with your compatible device. mecheng89 Posted November 22, 2017 Share For the guys that did the 947 what amount of points did you receive? I received 600 for cycling that distance, but it makes no reference to the event. I manually logged the event on Vitality but still no feedback.600 because it's a 50-99km event. Used to be 1500 in the past, but they like to shaft us. It does make reference to it, i checked both on app and Disco website.

Mine only shows the cycle tho, no event: 19/11/2017 Garmin workout: 60+ min workout at 70%+ of max heart rate Higher points awarded for fitness for the day. Garmin workout: 30+ min workout (speed data only) Higher points awarded for fitness for the day. 50 - 99.9 km cycle 600 (600)

Higher points awarded for fitness for the day. 50 - 99.9 km cycle 600 (600)That is the reference for an event of the distance bracket otherwise you would have only got 300 points for an activity unless you happened to be on the higher endurance athlete Edited November 22, 2017 by shaper
Paul Ruinaard Posted November 28, 2017 Share Guys, I have had my short term insurance brokerage sell themselves to Hollard. As i am now on Discovery I have an option to use Discovery Insure. I personally prefer to have a broker involved to handle my claims but it looks like there may be some benefits. Premium is over r 6k per month for 2 x cars, motorbike and 2 x houses = 1 x contents. So its not a small policy. they are trying to offer me the executive options as well. Whats the experience on Discovery Insure been? I certainly dont enjoy fighting with insurance companies over esoteric clauses they try to screw you out of paying your claims on. Any experience of their payout record. It always seems like the reviews are either 1 star i.e. dont go near. or 5 stars and excellent. Nothing in-between. Any other recommendations. I dont mind paying for cover but i want good cover. It seems this was costing me R 5400 just a year ago for similar cover.... Rob K

As regards Discovery, my research told me that claims experience was hot and cold. All the 5 star reviews were in favour of the sales teams, which Discovery do, do well, however claims experience was less raved about. I decided against moving to Discovery and my broker is now moving me to her recommended underwriter. Certainly a good broker does earn their keep in my opinion. Keep us posted and I would be keen to hear others experience - good or bad. Good luck and hope you stay claim free. LONE TWO Posted November 28, 2017 Share How do you guys record your rides on the Wattbike so you get extra vitality points? I currently use the Wattbike app which links to Strav but I don't get any vitality points for the activity apart from 100 for entering the gym. I see a few guys who have there computer with them but surely it wont record distance or anything only time.

You will see bottom centre of the wattbike LCD screen the ANT ID of the bike you are on. Then record all the data and wear your HRM and upload. Vitality are not interested in distance (although you can record distance, power, cadence etc). Vitality only interested in %HR and duration of workout. Other info they do not care about. Edit: do a search of forum on wattbike, will find the info on how to pair your garmin or similar with the bike Edited November 28, 2017 by shaper Dexter-morgan
shaper Posted November 28, 2017 Share Anyone else having issues with cashback this month?? Have received nothing for healthy gear, healthy food, gym booster, shoe booster or a flight booster payback. Phoned and spoke to vitality and they say there is a problem with the system and payments are delayed !!!
lechatnoir Posted November 28, 2017 Share +30 mins @ 80% HR = 300pts+60mins @ 70% HR = 300pts as far as I know 100% correct. If you're pushing to 90 or 120min, you may consider the endurance option where a 120min ride @70% gets 600pts. 90min = 450.
