I'm not in a rush. Got about 14k points so far (2.5k for online assessments, rest for fitness activities). Should hit the fitness limit in about June and I'll do the health assessment and HIV test when they come to our offices (around June/July) and that should get me to diamond.

Haven't received any points since 16-Feb - they owe me (family) 3000 points in this period and "rewards" for last week.

Can't access the points events screen - shows "Unable to load".

Web version shows "points not calculated".

Discovery told me they did maintenance on the server over the weekend. After I replied, "really, so why do my friends have points?", they were left speechless (literally).

Had to confirm which devices we use, which they never asked before.

Reluctant to activate another Apple Watch benefit, at least until my points are restored.

Edit: sorted this morning. All points restored.

I'm new to vitality and I was wondering how it take for you to get points from races. It says 4 days somewhere and I still haven't got the points for R4S which is on the list of vitality races. My garmin wasn't linked at the time, it is now though.

Thanks

Did you complete the online submission for sporting events? https://www.discovery.co.za/portal/individual/vit-partner-outdoor-sporting-events

Unless you do, they will not allocate the points.

Races on the list of vitality races do not need manual submission, they are on that list as they have partnered with the organisers and the timing providers to automatically get that data from the event.

That is all well and good but Vitality do not always seems to pick up the races that are on their list.  I submit irrespective and do not rely on Vitality to do their job!!

Only had that once, but as long as you submit within 2 weeks you fine, if you manually submit you loose the cash back for the specific event if you are a member of the relevant team.

Yeah, on the website they say explicitly that they will detect it automatically. That's why I am asking if I should send a manual submission or just hang on for a few days.

Seems like it won't hurt to just send a manual one too.

If you part of the vitality team, sending a manual one simply means you do not get your cash back on the race fee, otherwise if I recall you have till Tuesday to submit it if you need the points for this weeks weekly scoring.

No you don't. I've been a Team Vitality member ever since they launched the benefit, and I've been paid for every event that qualified as a cash back event, and I've manually claimed when I don't see anything automatic after 4 days.

There are some events where I've had to follow up, but I've never not been paid.

I manually submitted TWICE for the Discovery Duathlon in Cape Town (Ironically the Discovery sponsored event was not on the Vitality Race Calendar - Left hand/right hand springs to mind) and I still haven't received my points.  I gave up in the end - I couldn't be bothered to write emails again.

what are the advantages of joining Team Vitality at R800 per year ?

Other than the "free" jersey and upto 50% of race entry fee back.

Nothing, niks, nada... the whole point is to get the “up to 50% back” to be greater than the amount paid to join.

For me it’s R1150 (running + cycling) in and about R1350 - R1500 back, depending on the races I do. Year 1 is was a bigger return given that the cycling membership was only R600 and I think I had a R990 surplus, without adding the value of the shirt.

I got conned into signing up for the Active Rewards program, but for some reason they got Chris Froome and myself mixed up.

I am an old man and social cyclist yet they have set my weekly target at 1200 points.

Is this in the ball park, or was it just a mistake to sign up the week I finished the Rapha Festive 500 ?
