I'm a 29er convert. A few months back my brother asked me to fix and service his old TREK 8000 after having a 14 year rest from cycling, still has a Judy shock on it with the rubber boots and all. evidently this was a serious bike in its day. Still has MAVIC tubeless V brake rims on it and a graphite carbon cranks.

Anyway i do the mechanicals, not much wrong with it and I take it for a test ride at modders while he rode my 29er. I had so much fun on his old 26er so afterwards we both off to the bike shop, he buys a brand new 29er and I pick up a 2010 TREK Elite 9.8 full carbon 26er frameset, still brand new but at an absolute bargain price. Now moving all my parts over from my 26er which has been standing since i bought a 29er about 3 or 4 years back and building a 26er hardtail.

All I need to do is sort out the frikken BB90 bearing set for GXP MTB cranks and we ready to roll. Cannot believe you cannot get a bearing set for BB90 GXP MTB cranks in this country !!

When my frame snapped on New Years eve it took a while of searching to find a decent 26er frame.

There is not much on offer but I have a large investment in 26" equipment  and I have thoroughly enjoyed  my 26ers.

I got a On-One inbred frame and last week-end I was underway again.

I am looking forward to years more fun on it.

Nice bike! Any reason you have the cables/hoses like that in the front?

Still got my Scott Scale 35. Bought it second hand after I sold my carbon Titan 29er to go back to 26er. I just like how nimble a 26er is around corners and on single track, even though the 29er gave me more confidence on certain parts of each trail. Thinking of selling the Scott though, to put money towards getting a new road bike, as I think getting back into road cycling will be better for my lower back. I'm due to see the Specialist next month to ask him if it's wise to carry on with Mountain Biking with my Osteoarthritis.

I recently acquired this 1995 Kona Explosif and upgraded a few components to newer equivalents. I absolutely love this bike. It started out as a side project but has now become my primary ride.

Awesome, have been looking for an older steel frame, nice rebuild

My 26er i bought from my boss for R4000. Sadly the GF has stolen it as its much softer on her bum compared to her 29er hardtail.
