Pretty sure you guys knew it was too good to be true, but I think Cycle Lab may be obliged to fulfill your order, it was their mistake not yours. I'm no lawyer though.

That much is pretty obvious ^_^

I'm just laughing at the fact that the op has a whole bunch of bolts and nuts he does not really need and is 300 bucks out of pocket.... Just cos he was trying to be a smart ass

I think the op headline is wrong, but i am in 2 minds here....i think exploiting the mistake is wrong, but we all would have jumped at it if we saw it on the web...so lets not kill the op yet....i think a reasonable solution would be ....cycle lab to offer the kit at cost price to the op....then cyclelab would not loose any money (except overheads) and op still gets a bargain....my 2c

On Monday the 1 Feb there was an advert on the Cycle Lab On-Line store for a Sram Red Road Kit with an attached picture. Picture showed full drive chain, shifters, rear hub and rims. price was R299.99

I placed an order and paid for the item and received confirmation of order. On Tuesday the 2 Feb I received a call from Cycle Lab On-Line shop to tell me that they were waiting for two pieces of the kit to arrive and the order would probably be dispatched later that day.

Two of my riding friends then each ordered and paid for the same Sram kit on Tuesday. Both of these orders were confirmed.

This morning we all received a call from Cycle Lab On-Line shop to tell us that the kit was actually only the nuts and bolts for a Sram Red kit and not as the picture showed all the components. The picture used in the advert had been incorrectly used to advertise the parts.

Seems like somebody messed up?attachicon.gifSram.png

Ag nee man.

Don't forget the tjommies.

Keep an eye on the classifieds - those nuts and bolts will surface soon enough.

Seriously? You'd see a Red gruppo for R299 and 1) Think it's legit and 2) Try and buy it?

I once saw "Made in the UK" on Mars bar. Faaark that - I'm calling my lawyer, the CPA, the hubfundis and the Easter Bunny. I demand a Mars bar that was actually made on Mars!!! Rant rant pitchforks, popcorn and royal indignation.

Would not pay a cent more than R300 for a Sram groupset...no matter what colour it is...

Question:

Who has been to purchase something at spar as an example ( in my case tops) and the price on the shelf says x, you check out, and the price on the till display is y.

What did you do?

A) inform the tilltannie of the mistake, and go through the process of speaking to the manager to get the mistake rectified? Then proceed to pay the lesser price?

B) inform the tilltannie, and insist on paying the higher price

C) keep quiet and pay the lesser of more expensive price?

I usually do A..but i dont go seek it out like the OP...I usually am vigilant if the shop has a 2 for x rand special or something like that...and they dont get it right I point it out...During Christmas at Makro they had 24 x Pilsner Urquell for R279 on their big yellow boards outside the fridges...so when they rung it up for 100 bucks more i said "oh no you don't" and they quickly changed the till price for me and the big sticker outside the fridges at the same time
