Been following this thread from day 1 .

Glad Omnico finally came to the party .

However they have suffered some serious credibility damage here .

I would take the money and run .

What if the new fork feels like the one you have sent back ??

Ain't gonna keep giving you new forks till the cows home ...

So Steve Bowman has been around the bike industry specifically mtb since the late 80s.

He's a really nice chap and seems to only have one facial expression , fortunately it's a very pleasant one.

Russell us another great guy who has also been around for yonks. Races track, mtb and road. Actually knows what's going on inside a fork and how to tune it.

Since you have their attention, And being the nice people that they are I'd be inclined to opt for the fox.

So ,.....money or the box?

steve seems a very pleasant guy,was pleasantly surprised .

Agree 100% .. But am still of the opinion with any doubt in my mind that the fork was a dud.

So how good is the fork when working properly?

They're actually all really good. Remember Omnico is a fairly large distributor. They carry a lot of brands . The warranty department covers all brands not a separate team for each brand so sometimes the wheels move slowly. I think they've given you two enticing options.

Also been following this and glad it got resolved.

Tell Steve you really want to give the (a different one) Fox another try: ask for a demo unit for the weekend. That way you'll have a better feel for what was "supposed" to be going on (because according to this thread, you still don't know why there are such rave reviews about the new Fox).

Don't bother, what if the new fork is a dud as well? Then back to square one? Go with something you know and move on from here, lesson learnt...

Good luck with your choice, just accept and live with it though, because it was a decision you made and not anyone persuading you to make...

Or as MADBRADD said...

If Pikey was the only person having a hard time with Omnico then perhaps I'd agree with you but unfortunately more than a few people have reports similar to Pikey's and with various different Ominoc brands. The issue is clearly not with the Fox brand itself..

I'd go MRP if there's one on your bike now and it feels good, is the Fox really going to be that much different or better, very much doubt it. Pikey out of interest sake what's the price difference between the Fox you had and the MRP you are considering as a replacement?
