Recommend me a rear tyre

I've been running Conti's (race king) for a few years now, but the last two has let me down spectacularly.

Both times the side wall failed. At R 800 to a R 1000 a pop (pun intended) I've got no further interest in using conti's.

So I'm in the market for a new brand. (I've had Schwalbe before and was not impressed)

I do mainly marathon type riding so longevity and rolling resistance trumps grip. But the tyre should allow for occasional rough stuff.

Thanks

Spez GC Grid front and FastTrack Grid rear. Grippy, quick and cheaper than most decent alternatives

Specialized Fast Trak (Control casing)

Why not the Grid casing? According to the website its only 30g heavier than the Control, weighing in at 650g.

.......so longevity and rolling resistance trumps grip.......

Seriously?

Yes, grip is required up front not at the rear. All 90kg of me ensures sufficient grip at the rear ????

Don't need a serious/aggressive tyre at the rear which will be eaten up by tar roads.

I need to cycle at least 14km tar everytime I go for a ride, Gonubie has only one way in and out.
