Did the route yesterday, and that small section under discussion is really horrible.

We were a small group of 6 riders, and nowhere "race pace", but negotiating that section took a fair degree of skill.

If nothing is done to it before race day, I foresee a lot of trouble there.

I for one am glad I'm doing it on my MTB this year :whistling:

You guys notice all the manhole covers are raised and marked as if that's going to help?

City to smooth road for cyclists in Kalk Bay

The City of Cape Town’s transport and urban development authority (TDA) will start the final asphalt surfacing of a section of Main Road in Kalk Bay in anticipation of the internationally acclaimed Cape Town Cycle Tour.

Another reason why this is such a great race.

They always make sure that everything is perfect, well almost everything. The weather is beyond their control.

view from my desk this morning....  :cursing:

can't wait to be in sunny Cape Town!

Reminds me, we had a couple of Scandinavian visitors here last week. Took them to Worcester on site visit. It was 46C... They almost cried.

Really hoping you bring that weather with you ... given the choice of a sub 3 hour argus or a day of serious soaking rain where it's so wet that they call off the ride?
