Saguaro very solid tyre. Very long lasting tyre in my experience. For the front i prefer my ardent race tyre. Very good grip with decent rolling. Also very long lasting. 2 great tyres.

Yip, Saguaro is a solid choice that lasts a very long time

Maxxis Ardent Race also good (currently using).

Next rear will be Maxxis Aggressor to see how that goes - slower than the Ardent race, but a bit more bite which is fine by me

How about the Spez tyres?

Great prices and they seem to last well. I'm running a Renegade in 2.3 in the rear at the moment and I am pretty happy with it, but if you want more traction maybe try going for a Ground Control.

Also running Saguro rear and Barzo front. My other wheelset has ikon rear and nobby nic front which is similar but not as good as the vittoria combo.

One tire, and one tire only.

Vittioria Saguaro.

I've been a conti fan for years, recently fitted a saguaro and it will take some serious convincing for me to go back to conti

Continental Race King .

Reliable and extremely low rolling resistance. I own both the crossmark(on my other wheelset) and the race king. The conti has way more climbing traction on the rear and also wears well. It's not too heavy, but it is quite expensive.

Be sure to get the protection version! Hope this helps

just don't go over rocks with those conti's

I've had two fail in the last year (protection version nogal)

Saguaro. Light and strong. Reasonable wear. And good price on sale (R550)

Barzo up front. Excellent grip, light enough. Or Ardent Race on front.

Hey bud. Also looking for new tyres.where can I grab this special?

Hiya,

Will be riding Berg & Bush in October and am looking for a bit more traction from the back tyre when climbing - What would be your top choice?

Been riding a 'Maxxis Crossmark UST tubeless 2.1' for many years. Love it for its:
1) reliability (never punctured beyond sealant),
2) hard-wearing (there's quite a bit of tarmac between home & spruit),
3) low rolling resistance and
4) decent pricing.
It's not the lightest but light enough to have its reliability Am willing to trade off some of the hard-wearing (tarmac chews) for more of a grippier climbing tyre on a trail.
Usually ride Van Gaalens & other Gauteng trails, Dullstroom, Clarens and a 3 to 4 day stage race once a year - Sani2C, W2W, 3 Towers type stuff.

Suggestions for a better back tyre?

Thanks.

Spez Ground Control (Grid casing tougher and more stable than the lightweight Control casing) or Onza Canis would be my choice.   Easy rolling and plenty grip.   I rode the Berg and Bush trails a few months ago and the GC was perfect.   Coming from Ardents previously the GC has way more grip and rolls at least as fast.   Prices not bad either.

Saguaro.

I've ridden the ardent, ikon, race king, fast track and Onza canis as rear tyre and I prefer the Saguaro

I'm going yo say the Canis comes second but for offroad. on road the ardent is better

first time riding onza, and very happy up till now.

thinking of moving the ibex to the rear once the canis is shot. front will be replaced with a 2.4 ibex.

Vittioria Saguaro.

How does this tyre do on Stan's Tubeless rims- or am i getting confused with the Geax who also had a Seguaro tyre? I recall one of them was impossible to mount on Stan's rims.

Geax is now called Vittoria, so it's the same tire.

Also struggled to fit it to a loaner ZTR Crest rim, but once on, it's on!!
