s14phoenix Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 They need to come learn here in JHB how to protest - these guys can get high court decisions overturned... In CPT they can get races rerouted...
JuliBoB Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 A quick question for those with better rider knowledge, and perhaps a bit of a conspiracy on my part, but does the DQ of Sagan help perhaps a frenchman like Demare or Bouhanni regain the green jersey for the French? I also thought that this morning. Demare does seem to be in really good form and we know the French love their own ;P
mikkelz Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 "I can only accept the decision of the jury, but I disagree. I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong in the sprint," Sagan said, reading a statement. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/peter-sagan-accepts-tour-de-france-disqualification-but-denies-wrongdoing/
Escapee.. Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 IMG_2326.JPG This picture clearly shows Cavendish trying to squeeze through a gap that wasnt really there. He leans on Sagan. Sagan regains balance by using elbows up. Knees in etc. I call Sagan not guilty of anything Seriously? So was he supposed to rather lean on the barriers first? Look what happened when he eventually had no choice and kissed the barriers Terrible to see two great sprinters leave so early in the race.
bertusras Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Please can people stop posting single frames saying "this picture clearly shows..." No picture in isolation shows anything! There are 50 different stories to be told if any one picture is chosen. Only the multiple video angles in entirety tell us the story, and even then, there's stuff we're oblivious to. Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using Tapatalk No you're absolutely right. Which is why I've gone through the trouble of putting two angles into the images below. Kristoff is the first to break out of the slipstream and Bouhanni starts to follow http://i.imgur.com/tLsdiZK.jpg Kristoff pulls up along Greipel and Demare starts his move, with Sagan still behind Kristoff unaware of the move behind http://i.imgur.com/KYuR1A1.jpg Demare starts to pull up along Sagan, Cavendish not really following either wheel at this point http://i.imgur.com/esqh7MN.jpg Bouhanni starts his move on Kristoff, whilst Demare pulls level with Sagan. Cavendish follows Demare http://i.imgur.com/csIULnO.jpg Demare puts the hammer down and powers past Sagan, Sagan realises as he looks to his right that he needs to follow and at this point there is no-one beside him. http://i.imgur.com/83CTGUR.jpg
bertusras Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Here is the first time the trees block the overview, however from the front you can see Sagan is clearly aiming for Demare's wheel http://i.imgur.com/knj1JsV.jpg Coming out from under the tree Sagan is still clearly ahead of Cavendish, but Demare starts to go left again, Sagan still going right. http://i.imgur.com/0PbU2vO.jpg Cavendish realises that the gap has closed (and that there are spectators hanging over the barriers) and tries to come back inside. Sagan still has no idea that Cavendish is behind him. http://i.imgur.com/slm0ENY.jpg Sagan has his head down as Cavendish starts to encroach on his space. Demare has pulled level with Bouhanni and is still going left. http://i.imgur.com/UvcxgcM.jpg Cavendish rides under the arm of Sagan and starts to lose his balance. Demare starts to cut in front of Bouhanni. http://i.imgur.com/f1gwrOH.jpg
bertusras Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Sagan's elbow comes up, but Cavendish is already on his way into the barriers. Demare keeps pushing into Bouhanni's line. http://i.imgur.com/jaZU3I8.jpg Demare sits up Bouhanni as he pushes through. http://i.imgur.com/WgerHr6.jpg Bouhanni has to tap off to avoid Demare taking out his front wheel. http://i.imgur.com/7MiwPGJ.jpg Now if you look at this GIF below that I've put together, to me it looks like Cav's handlebar actually hits Sagan's forearm in the third frame. You can clearly see Cav's brake hood inside of Sagan's arm. Sagan then has to lift his arm to become untangled, which looks like a violent elbow to the face. Which in my view, it wasn't. http://i.imgur.com/KOn1rAT.gif
