dsw Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 Yah, I think Vino's hand is very evident here, he was a scrappy rider and won mostly on solo jaunts, this riding is right up Vino's alley and he was watching carefully, there was no luck here in my opinion, Aru was quite able to cover everything thrown at him (as actually, was Bardet) by SKY and his strategy was perfect, he never flinched, not once....the TT may throw him but SKY wont get that jersey back without a fight. If Froome and Kwiatkowski did not chase so hard Team Sky might have had the yellow today. As it played out Aru had a relative easy ride defending his yellow.
dsw Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 If there is a prize for the best domestique in the tour so far it must certainly go to Kwiatkowski.
TALUS Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 If there is a prize for the best domestique in the tour so far it must certainly go to Kwiatkowski. Julien Vermote had a massive hand in 5 stage wins.
'Dale Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 Meintjies is competing really for the white jersey and a top 10 Most likely want to improve in his last outing at TdF Noticeable, he's also up there with the best in the world without any team support. So, doing well and on that growth curve towards being a top 5er. Go Luigi ????????
jimmycool Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 Julien Vermote had a massive hand in 5 stage wins. From what I saw he almost single handedly dragged the entire peleton half way across France!

Mudsimus Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 Yes maybe I am to hard on Meintjies. Brilliant to be within 5min of these great ridersI would love to see him race a little more aggressive. Everyday on his social media profiles he boasts about his good legs, so time to put them to good use me thinks. Last year he showed that he is a top 10 finisher, nothing to lose in trying to go up the road once or twice. At the moment Yates is very deserving of the white.
dev null Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 A stage for the breakaway today. I expect to see a massive breakaway group forming very early on. GC riders to take it easy before the storm starting on Sunday. BMC and Sunweb to have most of their riders in the break, with GvA for the win today, although, Matthews might make it to the end with enough energy in his legs.
Albatross Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 It became very apparent that Astana don't have the depth to support a yellow jersey this year, did anyone even see an 'Astana train' yesterday?

Bonus Posted July 15, 2017 Author Posted July 15, 2017 Catching up with Louis Meintjes yesterday at the start in Saint-Girons. :-)
