So the general consensus among most cycling fans, fellow pro cyclists (past and present) and the many cycling media houses is that the DQ was an incorrect decision. Certainly this has got to count for something?

Except that is not true. There are a number of cycling fans (possibly biased due to loyalty) and a number of past and present riders that say ot is the correct descision.

As for the media houses, Sagan is on £6m a year because he draws the media attention. They are seeing their tour star attraction being excluded and know that it will cost them viewership/readership numbers. No wonder they are acting like fans.

Biggest win of Demare ' s career and not too much has been said about it.. not sure what the papers in France say. .also the poor guy that spent almost 200km on the front solo is getting very little airtime. . Poor guy that was quite the ride.

I don't think the French even know that there was a crash yesterday. They only saw Demare win a stage at the TDF.

Yup, counts for about 84000 likes on facebook, 27000 retweets on twitter and 37000 double taps on instagram.

But for the ruling, nada.

Will be interesting to see how much exposure he has garnered over the past day with his expulsion. It will have been a substantial amount more than normally, but the tour is 3 weeks long. They have got a much further reach for their sponsors as not just cyclists are now exposed to the story. Normally just cycling fans would be exposed.

IF BORA were REALLY smart, they have bought hours and hours of ad space with eurosport. I would have Peter Sagan in the studio first thing this morning or last night making a video of him cooking on a BORA stove and then showering under a Hansgrohe shower. and do like a VLOG each day in their advert spot. Would give them some massive exposure and lots of people would talk about that.

ASO is pronounced 'arsehole' if you speak English with a ridiculous French accent. Or is that Mexican. #random

Hey, anyone know why Demare had no FDJ branding on the biggest tricolor skin suit ever? Wonder if FDJ are peed about that.

Don't get technical... Next you'll be saying the UCI aren't ex-Hitler youth.

They apparently do have a lot of advertising slots. .

BUT

They are handling this very well..

Spare a thought for Juraj who as his room mate would've had one hell of a job keeping Sagan calm.. and I know Sags is a chill guy but no way he would've been chill last night. Even if they change the decision it would've already had a negative impact on the team..don't think many people at Bora would've slept well if at all last night and we know cyclist need rest.
