Its like that with all TV coverage, the pointy end of the men elites, they are leading the race. It is was it is.

 

They have upped their game with the coverage.  It's good.

 

And I think the Gerald is doing fine with the commentary, he is well informed. Beats the cr@p out of Rob Walnut.

We're honestly doing this? Comparing a one day race with a multi day stage race, of which the first day was tougher than any one day race I've ever done.

 

Got to love the hub.

 

And if someone were to die (touch wood), we'd all be saying that the Epic is taking the piss, and they need to stop trying to being so hardcore.

 

I'm a little upset by the shortened stage, but once again, good call.

My brother in law got pulled off the course by Dr yesterday at water point 3.

 

Mate of mine in hospital with kidney failure.Both have finished Epic before and have trained properly.

 

Both saying hospitals were full with riders.

Yoh.m great finish..Spez take the win.. but they had a a big gap after that Sandy corner that caught the riders out that Shurter closed down..Stirnemann just overcooked the last little corner and couldn't get there in time.

 

Jinne Shurter is another beast.

Its all very well to have an opinions on what should be going on during the event with regards to coverage but actually understanding everything that goes into it behind the scenes with all the unpredictabilities and difficulties is another story. I would only ask that those who are dropping the negative comments could be considerate with their opinions given that they might not actually know what they are talking about. Let's just try keep it positive!

As I mentioned earlier, and it applies to other mtb events in SA as well.... the tv coverage youvget is damn world class, far better than what we get here in Europe or Switzerland where nearly all the epic champs are bred....
