Maybe said Volvo driver was off to buy some popcorn?

One of the biggest weaknesses of the hub is that comments about popcorn are allowed. It should result in the allocation of an instant warning point for 1st offence followed by a banning for 2nd offence.

So only serious comments are allowed? What if you have 1000 posts, can you then post about popcorn. . .

So riding down the road the other day and have to turn right into a side road so i move to the right of my lane, on my side of the dotted line ,with my arm out signaling right turn and wait for the oncoming car to pass so i can turn ...the approaching  car stops next to me  and this little grey headed old lady shouts out of the window...

" You bloody cyclists aren't allowed in the middle of the road"

I hope you sprayed her with pepper spray.

Jokes. I wasn't being serious. Please don't spray sweet old dears with mace

Ok so I came to conclusion that all people are knobs , there are however a few exceptions, Kranswurm is a big knob

Not as big as the knobs here blasting the Marginal on their stuffed out bikes and no helmets

You mean a bit like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYX4rAnJ5Po

I can't believe I didn't swear and perform at him. My ex wife would not recognise me. Apparently.

I could not be more visible on the road, lumo yellow shirt with red #staywider slogan, lumo pink helmet and a flashing LED #fly6 rear light HD camera.

Jeez, you never know it could be the same idiot. In my case I was next to him when he suddenly started moving to the left. Luckily speeds were slow. The common theme is an almost total lack of situational awareness or perhaps awareness but total disregard for anyone else on the road...

So this thread of mine evolved into something with tentacles...

Was only wondering whether cyclists experience motorists worse/better at certain times of the day?

Humour can be good but idiotic comments about putting the popcorn on on a serious thread about safety shows the intellect of the poster and just wastes the bandwidth of the rest of us.

So, to answer your question, yes, it's best to have some respect for users who make the effort to find out more about other users experiences with bad driving. Particularly in a week when one of our own was senselessly killed by a motorist.

I imagine 1,000 posts about popcorn and other such poor taste imbecilic humour will actually lead to most sensible hubbers using the great feature provided by the site owners that enables blocking ALL that user's posts.

One has to deal with the pandemic of idiot drivers here even when driving!

Such fun self quoting!  But what really gets me is the selfishness. People should learn to give way. And then they can expect to be given way as well.

Instead all and sundry push their way, even if they can see you need to cross the lane, you have your indicators on, they will still sit in your path, hoot and make a scene.

Give frigging way. Its easy. And when someone does, acknowledge it in some way.

Yes!!

I now know why roadies get out at stupid o clock. Generally you're sharing the road with bikers and enthusiastic drivers. Yes they're going fast but they are concentrating on the job at hand.

The aggression on the road seems to grow during the day. The problem with early mornings is the doooses coming home from the jol are on the road.

Sunday afternoons for me are a big no no. I reckon half the people on the road at that time are over the limit.

During the week I ONLY ride locally. Luckily for me local is chappies and Suikerbossie.

Knobs getting to work 40 minutes faster than you..... teeeeeheeeee

Bru I don't mind who gets to work first. Personally I never want to get there. Traffic is heaven in comparison.

And I use heaven in a totally non-theistic sense. Just because it ain't Friday yet...
