Make sure you are up to the task and don't try and prove a point.

Check your health !!!

Went out for a training ride and on the way home from Noordhoek to Hout Bay came across a group of motorists performing CPR on a cyclist. No no accident, crash or fall. The medics had not arrived yet but I could see that the people attending to the cyclist knew what they were doing.

I hope he is Ok!!

How can you possibly know there was not a crash or that he maybe has asthma that its A rookie paramedic exercise or that he maybe had A heart attack.

Nothing points to him riding out side of his limits. And that how many cyclists train HIIT.

Maybe if someone here has some details on the cyclist we can be enlightend.

Give me as much flack as you want , my overhead point is valid.

All of a sudden those "Silly" discovery yearly health checks dont sound so silly.

If it is your time, it is your time.  No amount of probing will change that

Not really - while there are some conditions and vulnerabilities the health check won't pick up there are a great many that it will. Timeous treatment can be the difference between a heart attack and death at 45 or bouncing a grandkid on a knee at 65.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Not taking care of your health and throwing your arms in the air saying "If it's my time, it's my time" is idiotic. Knowing whether you have a condition that requires medical treatment can allow you to receive the necessary treatment and can enable you to live longer than you might otherwise.

A very good friend of mine had a fatal heart attack 2 years ago just after finishing the 94.7. Was off the bike for many years and not as fit as he used to be years ago. The scary part is that he was still very capable of finishing the race, his body just didn't agree.
