To expand on the seeding bit...

This event is a premier seeding event for the Fun Ride World Champs, so... it means that the seeding doesn't degrade.

Non premier events carry the +1 penalty for each month after 5 months.

I don't think the 947 works the same, so 5 months after this one is 23-Sep before it starts degrading. Entries close end of August, so perhaps this one could count without degrading.

Makes sense.  I forgot about the "premierness" of an event.  ;)

For seeding purposes I would suggest the medium route at the Sattelite Classic. This was by far my best seeding race for seeding in 947 and Argus.

Just to give an idea, 80km Sattelite classic route in 2h32 outscored the following:

2h57 947(95km),

2h36 Emperors(98km)

3h25 R4V(110km)

EDIT: I just remembered that the Sattelite might have been too late in the year to qualify for 947 seeding. Can anyone confirm?

Yes too late in the year, if you want it to count you can pay to reseed at 947, I did this in 2015 when satellite classic was my only good race

There are some people with ZERO seeding(friends of mine) so this is a easy way to build up to something, if its too late for the 947, you can submit and pay some randellas to look at this result.

I'm doing this just for seeding. The only other races I've done in the last 12 months have been riding with a slow friend, so if I don't do something, my seeding is going to fall.

As a bad climber, due to being a fatty, I get much better seeding indexes from flat races, hence this race.

Simply doing this event as part of prep for Tour of Durban, otherwise would have ignored this and probably will going forward.

For me it's a white-knuckle race from start to finish  Dreading the high speed bunches. Always a crash...but one of the few races I can ride there, do the race and ride back.

I feel the same - treating it as a race-pace training ride.

Plus, the Team Vitality cash-back helps too.

Well......seeding....

After 6 months this race will be degraded by factor x according to the rules of Racetec.

So in theory this will help you boggerall for 94.7 and especially for the Ogust in March.

Rather do something closer to the date.......

Just a thought.......

Want to do as little road races as possible and all close proximity, Emperors, R4V around Sept then Carnival (although this one does not count for this years 947) and I should be good to go.

Seeding Schmeeding.... let your seeding drop a bit, get forced a few groups back... solo attack your batch 100km out and Jens Voigt it!

Go home broken and satisfied. Much more fun than sucking wheel and rolling over the line with 100 other people who are all worried about their golf handicap.

Actually agree with you on this one. Ideally you would want to break away with two to three others and roll through the whole course. Much less stress than riding in a mega group with 100 twitchy riders.

So what you saying is B is where it's happening .lol.. I tried sitting with patch once... I'm still broken

But if you don't do this year's Carnival race, then you'll say the same for next year's 947, and again the year after, and, and, and... ????
