The cyclingnews TDF team review makes for interesting reading. http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/analysing-the-2019-tour-de-france-teams-part-1/

We give DDD a really hard time, mostly because we are passionate saffas, but just take Astana who won just about everything at the start of the year, well them and a whole lot more look just as flash as DDD as far as TDF 2019 goes.

The margins are small and the perceptions/ expectations are huge. A look at Ben King's daily instagram blog reveals just how hard they tried.

All said, the best TDF in years.

Enric Mas from Quickstep to Movistar.

That was mentioned by the press before the Tour started already, no surprise as Mas is the next Spanish hope. Edited by Gen

Lets hope the riders are retained

Sho if Quintana goes there, Griepel, Dowsett, Zakarin, Nils Polit and Barguil.

Feel the team is in a similar spot EF was a season or 2 ago. in terms of wins etc.

Did you read the article JW posted???

Us Afrikaners can read it without google translate.

But alas, seems not all is retained...

The GC contenders

Nibali to Trek-Segafredo, Quintana to Arkéa-Samsic, Landa to Bahrain-Merida and Dumoulin to Jumbo-Visma?

The most high-profile GC riders on the market are Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida) and Nairo Quintana (Movistar). Below these two are a raft of athletes including Daniel Martin (UAE Team Emirates), Wout Poels (Team Ineos), Ilnur Zakarin (Katusha-Alpecin), Esteban Chaves (Mitchelton-Scott), Enric Mas (Deceuninck-QuickStep), Davide Formolo (Bora-Hansgrohe), Louis Meintjes(Dimension Data), Jakob Fuglsang (Astana) and Mikel Landa (Movistar). Each of those come with strengths and weakness, but only two from the entire list above have won Grand Tours.

Tom Dumoulin has a contract with Team Sunweb until the end of 2021 but is also on the market because he is reportedly unhappy and determined to leave.

Mmmmmmm...... Extract out of cyclingnews' Cycling's official transfer window article
