Turns out my favourite butcher has closed one of their branches, that was quite nearby. There is another butcher that we go to sometimes, although their meat is not of the same quality. Would anyone here know what Food Lover's Market is like price-wise?

Sometimes their prices are good. Won't make me buy meat from them again.

Have seen some good prices there. However the hygiene and quality of meat is on the lacking side. If you find a well managed branch they can however be gold, I use to love the one in Pta East, just can't recall the mall's name (out on Garstfontein road). No idea how it's doing these days tho.

What area are you in? Maybe we can help.

In Kyalami I recently discovered Carnivores (they are on Olifantsfontein in Blue hills centre). Prices are fairly standard but quality so far is good and the owners are very hands on. Most of the time the ones behind the counter helping you.

Food lover's .... eish.

Prices sometimes 'Okay', quality I've found is a BIG hit or miss. They don't use the same suppliers constantly.

Rather find yourself a new 'local'

Probably the best route to go.

My suggestion is to try Spar first.

Spar are franchises, so every store can buy their meat from whoever they prefer, so my local Spar is my go-to for steak. We'll phone the butcher and ask for X amount of thick rump steaks and he'll have it ready for us. Or he'll tell us to rather wait and Braai something else.

Speaking Weber. I have a Q220 as my go to everyday kind of braai, yes I know it’s gas but it is a great toy. I need to replace my burner but am having no joy, Weber SA doesn’t even reply. Does anyone know where I can get one?

Nothing wrong with a Weber. I have one, although I don't use it to its full potential. I just sommer put the meat and/or mielies and mushrooms on the grill, and use it as a normal braai.
