I'm leaning towards the santacruz.I like the idea of the flick link so that I can run 29er and a 27.5 plus wheel size

That's what the Yeti 4.5 allows.

If it was me, if go for the Yeti. Have always loved the look of it.

strange comment indeed. I generally see more Santa Cruz bikes than Pygas. And the Pyga generally gets more admiring looks from onlookers. Santa Cruz have nice bikes but I think from an appeal point of view the Pyga still wins hands down. Those Yetis also beautiful machines

Pyga, the after sales support and availability of replacement frame parts is unmatchable.

Anything you may need gets taken from underneath the counter or off of a new bike.

I have never walked out of Pyga waiting for something to be ordered. " I waited over a month for a giant linkage"

ride them...

I'm a SC guy, but mostly because of the geometry of a 5010 which I still think (maybe biased) is the perfect bike...  I've never ridden a tallboy, but to me there is a world of difference between the 5010C and any traditional marathon bike that i've ever been on.

I've heard the hightower is basically a 5010 geometry with 29" wheels, so maybe that's even more perfect, but I've never compared them 1 to 1.

The tallboy 2 is pretty much the perfect bike for what you are looking to do.

It's climbs so damn well and decends even better. You have to push hard to get it out of its comfort zone .

I had 130 fork on mine and it only improved the ride quality and its handling characteristics. I know you are looking at tb 3 but my experience was on the 2 and they have improved everything on the bike. The tb2 surprised me nearly ever time I rode it.

Santa frames are also renowned to be bullet proof and are widely regarded as one of the best made frames and has a lifetime warranty,Bearings included ( clearly they believe in there product)

And a great rep for replacing those that do have issues.

Ride quality and service form sc must make it a serious consideration.

Edit: never ridden the yeti so can't comment. But my mate had a pyga 110 and I rode it a fair few times. It was nice but never blew me away or had that special something albiet very capable.

Just my biased opinion ????

In your dreams.....I have had a SC and I have a Pyga.No contest the SC wins hands down.

As for Yeti from what I understand the service levels and back up is crap

Funny you say that , I had a Pyga it didn't last 3 rides and it took a loooong time to get a replacement. sadly seen a few broken and all in the same place more or less

Seriaasly out of those 3 brands go Stanta cruz

If we're suggesting other brands , then the Camber !

Now I am stoked that my humble steed is being named amongst such honoured brands...My Camber is such a legend bike, and it absolutely vreets ST, yet is not bothered by long drags of XC either. I even managed to up my skills around table tops and the odd (for now smallish) gap jumps.
