Majka denies links to Italian doping ring

“Del Nista continued saying that when Majka was training with Frediani he was using testosterone and would throw the needles in the neighbor’s garden,” read police records seen by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Del Nista said that Majka’s jaw line changed, becoming almost squared, because he was using testosterone and human growth hormones.”

Froome asks for ‘fair process’ as his Salbutamol case plays out

“I am not asking for a benefit of a doubt, I am just asking for a fair process,” Froome said before the start of the Ruta del Sol. “There have been a lot of riders who have been through a similar situation, and all I am asking is to be treated the same as other people.”

Chris Froome's Ruta del Sol power data broadcasting live

A quick look at apps such as Strava shows that Team Sky riders such as Froome usually tend to hide their power data. Many suggest this is done to avoid rival teams having detailed knowledge of the given rider's capabilities.

However, with current question marks looming over Froome's ongoing battle to overturn his adverse finding for salbutamol and Team Sky's part ownership of Velon - with nine other WorldTour teams - this could be seen as a bid to show transparency in this challenging period.

Never mind Majka's jawline, have you seen the masculinization in some current female cyclists' faces over a few years?!!

Dave Brailsford muddying the water as best he can.

Is the team fully backing Froome’s insistence that he didn’t break any rules? “The rule is the number of puffs. So did he take more than the allowed number? No. I am 100 percent confident that I cannot see how it won’t play out.”

No Dave. The rule states that to avoid being over the limit, one should take a maximum number of puffs in a certain time frame. The cynic in me sees this as Dave hinting at something - "I know he didn't take more than the allowed number of puffs because he didn't use the inhaler. He was over the limit because of the pill he took, but the rule is all about the number of puffs. Now leave me alone, we have some left over Kenacort in a jiffy bag at the back of the bus that I need to take to help with my weight issues!"

Problem is there is no consistency in how the riders are being treated. This is imo a failing of WADA and the pro cycling community in general. There has to be a fair way to deal with how riders approach these findings. This is actually doing more disservice to Froome.

Mixed emotions in the Peloton

Oliver Naesen (Ag2r La Mondiale) said he’s been so exasperated by the frequent press inquiries about Froome that he rode up to Froome during Wednesday’s stage to ask him to put out a Twitter message to request journalists “to stop asking other riders about me.”

“It’s such a complicated case,” Naesen said. “It’s not so easy to speak about it when Froome might even not serve a ban.”
