Curve GRX

Dave builds his frames around the Columbus fork, but there were none available. Luckily, he had Benky on speed dial and one was sent down only to discover that its 18mm taller. Dave, being Dave, shortened the headtube and jiggled things around a bit to make it work.

As far as forks go, its a stunning piece of kit.

And now I know why Benky asked me a while back what I was doing with my curve GRX fork

Your bike is a work of art

Thanks, these are unfortunately a bit on the porky side for what I'm trying to do. Pity the Ritchey forks are so pricey...

if it gas bosses in it, its made fir racks and load…so yes, wont be featherweight i guess. Sounds like you are looking for a road fork that can take a bigger tyre? Lol

Nope there are alternatives, just pricey ones - check this out - https://eu.ritcheylogic.com/eu_en/wcs-carbon-adventure-gravel-fork

3kg per side max payload? with a pannier rack that weighs 1kg and two small bags at 1.5kg each (EMPTY)....that leaves you with almost enough loading capability to pack 4 extra water bottles in your expensive and elaborate bottle cage lol. that Richey fork is for mounting a bottle cage per side...nothing more imo.

I would imagine that the 3kg limit refers to the 'Multi Purpose Mounts' down the sides.
The racks are mounted at the bottom of the forks and surely those have a different limit ?

I spent 1500km on the saddle (1/3rd of which being one ride) that comes on the Scout and can comfortably state (lolpun) that its supremely butt-friendly. Not the prettiest, but my bum loved its semi-spongy goodness. A hell of a lot more comfortable than the Ryder Force I'm running now at the same price.

the bottom rear hole is where you mount fenders on most forks...or in some cases a low rider pannier in conjunction to some side holes. Steel ones usually have the rack mount on the front bottom(forward facing), including some braze-ons down the front.

gravel carbon forks generally only have the 3 holes down the side, for mounting bottles or snack packs etc....and yes they are mostly intended for "speed packing" or bike glamping lol. (think all the nice Apidura frame bags ☺️).

If you are going to mount pannier racks on a bike to load it, you'd probably be better of going with a steel fork in the end imo. But then you have to be ok with a 1,5-2kg fork too. Thats why a heavy duty carbon fork that weighs only half that isn't as bad imo. in the end there are choices.

I was about to compliment you on your 26er gravel bike being trés chic, until I saw the 64cm frame size and realized it was 700c...

I'd have to mount that bike like this badass
