The idea is to replace the 7 speed CLUSTER with a 9 speed CASSETTE.  In terms of hub thread and spacing ... do we have a chance of success with this ?

 

 

PS - I do have the 9 speed cassette, derailure and shifter.  @KB280DT is currently also on the crutches list ... so may be a week or two before we can get together to actually test this transplant ....

It will work if the current hub is a normal HG (Hyper Glyde) if it is a screw on cluster then unfortunately it will not work. But other than that everything will be golden. The HG freebody will have enough space to go up to even 10 speed. 11 speed may be a stretch 😁

just checked with @KB280DT .... this is the old style screw on cluster setup.

 

 

So either another 27,5 rim which can take a cassette, or the search continues for 3x7 shifters.

Looking for a 650b front disc wheel with 15mm thru axle hub (old non boost), otherwise 26" wheel, or even just a hub if I can't find a complete wheel.

 

Want to build up a hardtail tail frame so I can mount a seat and ride with my little one. Got pretty much everything else. Ideal will be mullet 650b on the front

I made a mistake earlier last week: I thought I was going to put a 650B Reba onto a Marlin and I then went ahead and built my Alex wheel with a thru axle hub only to discover that the fork is actually a 26er 😭. I even went ahead and got the fork serviced prior to making the discovery . And the Darwin award goes to? Anyway, I have a newly built 650B tubeless front wheel if you want to take it off my hands

Hey Hubbers, anyone got a USED tapered steerer tube rigid 29er fork to go on a hardtail boost or non boost but cannot be quick release.

Morning All, does anyone perhaps have a set of mechanical disc brake calipers they're willing to part with for moola? Helping someone with a build. He's currently got the shifter/brake combo controls and doesn't have the budget to change shifters as well as get a set of hydrolic brakes. i have a complete out-front mount kit(Garmin/Wahoo) that has something similar in it, Dm me if you are interested.
