Guys, going to put this in lockdown till the race is over.

While the race is on, lets keep the race chat in that thread.

When it is over the and the questions about kit and tips and such like start again we can open this thread and close the race one.

Trying to keep things tidy.

A merge will not be a good idea as it will cause chaos trying to find info.

If you want to post info into this thread, drop me a PM and I will add it.

Also moved some photos to the race thread.

EDIT:

Thought I better add the link

thanks Slowbee

I still think that they should have been merged.

but anyhow

How's the 36One training going?

SLOW!

Not in a happy place. Am not managing to get the miles in due to time. SO have to sit and ride slowly.

If I was an ultra-endurance kind of animal, this is a must-do like the TB, 36ONE.

Congratulations to all who got to the km 0 and gave it their all.

To all of you out there thinking of entering for 2019 - just effing do it!

Toughest thing I've ever done, and loved (almost) every second of it.

Type II fun.

you're not supposed to be enjoying it at the time!

I think this race is now at the stage where entries will start selling out. There is 150 slots so if you are thinking of riding best get your entries in.

The internationals will also enter more and more, at the exchange rate they ride for next to nothing.

Definitely. The more of us who bring back stories, the more our club mates get drawn to put it on their bucket lists too. At least 2 of the mates who turned out to watch T and I finish commented they fancy giving it a try. It's up there as one of those unique must do events

Hi Rob. I'm interested to hear why you think Munga is tougher than TCR.

Hi Rob. I'm interested to hear why you think Munga is tougher than TCR.

I guess predominantly because I am a roadie. Chatting with Nico straight after, he felt the opposite - and he's a much more skilled and accomplished mountain biker than me. So I guess that probably accounts for much of the difference. I'm just not used to surfaces with such terrible rolling resistance where you have to battle for every pedal stroke. On road, you get a ton more free-wheeling Km.

Edit - plus the dust, which gave me terrible bronchitis that got worse as we rode
