Now see, if shimano was to be really spiteful, they will have changed the gear spacing not to match SRAM 12 spd spacing. This would mean that you cannot combine the great shifting of shimano, with the super light cassette of SRAM, basically forcing you to change to their freehub in order to run 12 spd.

Let's hope that they weren't nasty.

What time zone are we waiting for to wake up before we get an update?

This is turning into a long and drawn out reveal!

then 12 years later they launch SLX?

Best thing SRAM did was launch GX 12spd so early in the game, would be great if Shimano did the same with SLX

Well you know Shimano...

First going to test the water with Xtr to see if this 1x12 thing takes off

6 teeth is a big jump but at least it's not an 11 speed cassette with a 50 slapped onto it. 51 is ridiculous. Still can't imagine ever needing it

Don't get me wrong, love Shimano (have it on my one MTB), the other one running SRAM.

But I have noticed that the new XTR RD almost looks like an SRAM Ripoff... Gone is the Shadow tech on the RD which even made it to the road RD's.

Will be interesting to see what the new XT and SLX looks like.

Shadow is for floating parallelogram derailleurs. This new RD 9100 is fixed with the chain tension articulation only at the cage. Hence the comments that it's a a SRAM type 3.0 rip off
