We're putting in a mixed team this year with podium ambitions. We have the current SA Ladies U23 Road champ, and 3 other rather hardcore ladies. We need a few more okes to get them to 170kms, and then be humble enough to have your ass handed to you as they out climb you on the final 3 climbs.

We did 5:08 last year, finishing as the second mixed team, and we'd like to improve on that.

Mixed Martial Arts experience is an added bonus.

We're still looking for a couple of strongmen. Diesel engines with thighs of thunder that don't mind spending hours on the front, wallowing in their own pain and misery, tapping out a solid tempo.

That's not to say that we won't accept skinny mountain goats, but let's be honest - wheelsucking a skinny mountain goat is about as useless as a Friday thread on a Wednesday.

Anybody have a timing chart they willing to share (which would include variations in average speed for hills etc.)?

Looking to come in comfortably under 6.

See if you want to podium you need a CSA license.

Those that have worked with CSA before, does a day license cover this?

Or do you need a full R450 racing license?

Not sure...."Day license" normally....and I stress NORMALLY is more like the "membership" thing.....

My guess is they are going to hook you up for the R450 thing.

Funride?

The R450 job shoud be valid then for a full year though.......but the Cape boys don't really need it as much as we suckers up in Gauteng does.

Valid calendar year (expire 31 dec), add cost to join accredited cycling club,  and then no more fun rides.

Anyone know how many teams there was last year and was start times also 30 seconds apart last year? (having elderly moment now)

Also around 250 teams. The start times have always been 30 seconds apart. The last 10 teams get a minute gap and the last 2 or 3 get a two minute gap.
