Kyalami & Zwartkops raceway

Hi Guys

 

New to the forum but have been following for a while.

 

What are the chances of us contacting Kyalami or Zwartkops raceway to start using the track during the week.

 

I believe there is a huge demand for this and safety being #1.

 

Lets maybe bounce some idea's around and come up with a plan.

 

Eg

 

Tuesday and Thursday from 15:00 - 19:00

R50 entry to cover costs

 

I have since contacted Kyalami raceway and they advised they no longer do it as they did years before.

 

Spring and Summer is coming up and would be great to use the circuits.

When I last spoke to ZRW they were happy to accommodate, just check their calendar.

Bottom line. Kyalami not gonna happen. Owned by Toby Venter and the facility is rented out for events which includes the track.

but just keep left and make sure the marshals tell the drivers to follow the 1.5m rule

I actually discussed with a colleague earlier this week about kyalami being open to cyclists before and was pleasantly surprised seeing this thread. Now it looks like there is an event (possibly a bikehub thread on it) that I missed. Wonder wat happened, because sounds like its something they won't forgive.

unfortunately in any group there are always individuals that take other generosity and hospitality for granted and stuff it up for everyone else

Zwartkops is used for criterium races organised by BSSS Club on a regular basis. Not the main track, the old part of the original track around the drive-in side. Keep an eye out for the next one.
