mmmh pipe down a bit.

there are many sellers on the hub with similar 'stats'.

CWC has 23 posts...

Bell Cycling 149...

Summit Bikes 36...

None really meeting the Rouxtjie rule, yet all buy from them.

I'm not sure "2" is much like "23, 149 or 36" to be honest . . . .

It's not my bike.im willing to chat and come to some sort of agreement. That's why I'm calling him.

Something does not sit right with me when it comes to these one sentence responses.

I'm trying to put myself in your shoes and all I can think is how I would try to defend my honor.

If we consider the number of your ads posted here are 251 in 7 years. That gives you about 35-36 ads per year.

If I look at some of the high end products for sale I can assume you could be generating between R3k - R5k profits per sale. This puts you in a very good position to ALMOST quit your day job and do this sort of thing full time.

That is a very nice position to be in.

I would advise you to be a LOT more transparent and redeem your good reputation on the hub.

BTW, isn't it amazing how all the hub newbs just seem to have this moral obligation to chime in with threads like this....?

Yes, someone have to attempt to uphold those high morals!

Also, it helps us noobs to get our post count up to finally become beacons of trustworthiness!

I think it's crazy.... Let's face it, any honest buyer and any honest seller will normally be able to come to a suitable agreement without fuss and everyone keeps a solid reputation.

The fact that Joe hasn't been able to repair the situation before this thread, and then further destroy it with his very inadequate responses, stinks of dodginess and unwillingness to partake in a safe buying environment that I believe most hubbers try to cultivate.

100% ratings are the only ones I trust, if an ice cream had 99 chocolate sprinkles and one made of ****, I still wouldn't lick the ice cream.

The fact that ampandy had a shockingly dishonest interaction only adds to the verdict in my mind.

Thanks OP for starting this thread, I know for sure I won't be buying from Mr Funk.

Mr Funk. Rather funk off out of this community and stick to gumtree where your kind of buying and selling is more commonplace.

WHY NOT ANSWER SOME OF THE QUESTIONS YOU WERE ASKED AND NOT SELECTED QUESTIONS??

WHY NOT PROVIDE "ORIGINAL" OWNERS DETAILS SO THAT "OP" CAN MAKE CONTACT WITH HIM AND FIND OUT IF HE IS AWARE OF THE CONDITION IN WHICH THE BIKE WAS SOLD??

ok, my throat is sore now from shouting!

Perhaps the OP can contact original owner and they can come to a compromise and a deal, UNLESS the bike was not sold in the same condition with the same components on as the "original" owner wanted to sell it??

If this thread has taught me anything, it's that you have some underlying, nay, surfaced aggression issues.

OP, please present evidence that the bike was in the state you say it was, and invoices or details from whoever fixed the lefty etc.

Let them be...

You were also a newbie once - or did you automatically get credited with +2000 posts when you 1st created a hub account.  :whistling:

251 past ads + all the lame excuses ????

Makes me wonder where Mr Funk gets all these items to sell on the hub...

How do you see how many ads a seller has listed in the past?

7yrs, 251 ads later and the guy still claims he's clueless about ascertaining the condition of a bike.... BS!!!

And the complete bikes have weird builds, Team frame but entry level parts, deore cranks, X7/X9 derailleurs

NO I'M NOT RUNNING A CHOP SHOP AND NO I DON'T BUY STOLLEN GOODS.I BUY FROM THE HUB OR GUMTREE.

He who doth protest so much...

So what is it, you sell for your friends or via your "friends" on gumtree?

What constitutes a "newb" to you - a low post count or recently joined?

I agree that recent joiners to a forum should pay heed to its inherent hierarchy and "culture" and not machine-gun-rattle off a large number of non-contributory remarks to get their post count up.

That said, everybody is entitled to an opinion...
