i saw 29er Cannodale bike @Makro Woodmead yesterday 

 

And did it look properly set up?  Fork facing the correct way?

 

I really do hope some one that can ride the thing hard decides to spend the cash and take it up Hoogenkraal / Conties and see how long it survives

Saw the first ones at Makro Cape Gate today only 1 set up as "demo" the rest still in box should be very basic build.

The one I saw had cable brakes and cheap as chips parts wheels looked not that bad so should be able to ride some trails but for my own safety I don't think I will trust cable brakes down hoogies.

I think hold on for the 5 to come out only 500 bucks more but considerably better spec.

When are they due?

I would say around the end of the month the 7 was only supposed to come out the 29th and is already in some stores. They say the 4th October but I won't be surprised if they are a couple days early.

hint, if your bikes to be super cool larney, sell them without pedals.

I know you can charge like and extra grand if you take the pedals off before selling!

Got my missus interested in one of these for herself.... :-) She's got her dad to tap up his inside man at Makro to let him know when the 5 arrives.

was at makro montague gardens to buy some office stuff.

Had a look at the display 7 assembled there.

it's proper budget, but probably does what you need.

 

The origin sticker on the packaging/boxes was myanmar, for whatever that means.

 

The lady in front of me in the till had bought two, and a kids seat.

so ja, more people on bikes is good for the sport in general
