Jo I feel for an oke that goes off course. All your hard work and then a silly mistake.

Britstown will be boiling hot even in the hotel. That a ancient building must be some serious history there.

The next stretch has a crapload of gates and very corrigated twin tracks

So the HT guys are going to lose a kidney or two?

Suspension doesn't really help for corrugations in my experience. The bumps happen too fast for the suspension to react.

The best item I've used on corrugations is a Lauf fork.

I remember Hannele Steyn Kotze went off route in the first Munga... she did nearly an extra 200kms odd in the end I think, and still finished up near the sharp end. The mental fortitude of these guys and girls is next level, but you really don't need to make this race any tougher with navigational errors.

The worst is probably at every stop people are going to mention it to you. :(

What if dropped the pressure on your suspension for these parts? Say 40% sag.

Didn't help. Suspension just can't physically move that fast.

Softer tyres made the biggest difference but you pay for that in rolling resistance.

only one thing to do on HT riding sinkplate.

my prep for transxhariep will be corrugations and wind 'cause I know we are going to have plenty of both

Yup.

Corrugations and clumpy grass - two of my least favourite riding surfaces.
