BigDL Posted December 6, 2018 Share Good call. Regardless of the circumstances, a cyclist is fighting for his life at the moment. Hoping and believing that he will win the fight. Skylark, Eddy Gordo, Wayne pudding Mol and 2 others
Shebeen Posted December 6, 2018 Share Didn't realise it at first glance, but if I read it correctly he is the curator of Kirstenbosch. He's in charge of one of CTs top attractions, https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/columnists/peter-bills/philip-le-roux-i-became-disillusioned-with-commercial-forestry-1840729.html https://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/23/opinion/sunday/philip-le-roux.html hoping for all the best

buchanan Posted December 6, 2018 Share How dreadfully unfortunate. Wishing strength to Philip and his family - pray he pulls through. That little side road is indeed a potentially deadly addition to the Suikerbossie descent if one is not concentrating 100%. (On a side note I was taken out by a car on Beach Rd, Sea Point 2 weeks ago. Totally the driver's fault. Bike written off and I wound up in Medi Clinic for the afternoon. Road cycling is becoming ever more dangerous/deadly I fear.)

Wayne pudding Mol Posted December 9, 2018 Share Tragically Philip has been on life support for a few days with no brain activity, his organs are or have failed (my info is a day old) They are waiting for a family member to arrive from overseas today to say goodbye..........again, I must stress whilst factual, my information from his brother is a day old. I will update when I hear more but obviously it's not good

Wayne pudding Mol Posted December 9, 2018 Share You just never know - Philip is off machines and tomorrow his family meet doctors to discuss options - to me this seems like a glimmer of hope compared to the conversation I had with my friend (his brother) I don’t want to give false hope, just passing on the information - I have asked for permission before posting anything Meezo, gogo@, porqui and 11 others
