Relative to what  came before her and all those Brit fighters built in the 50;s, I think she is  a beaut.

Hawker Hunter excepted- those are just strikingly elegant.

Had a great experience last week in France, an old friend with terminal cancer who had flown models had flying a light aircraft on his bucket list.  His wife managed to arrange a flight and intro lesson in a Robyn trainer with a local flying club who really went above and beyond to make it a real experience for him at cost with no instructor charges.  He got to fly almost from the get go, over his house and around the district then do a touch and go at the local international airport.  Was a joy to watch his face and also to see people react to hearing all the air traffic control conversations at an airport for the first time and see them absorbing having to fit in around some 737's.  I sat in the back giving moral support and just helping with logistics/interp

Un-freakiing-believable  . wait this is SA ,anything goes. Where did this idiot get his/her training? was not respect for controlled airspace made painstakingly clear?

Which reminds me of my bloops in this regard, on a flight down to CPT in a Piper 6  got stuck at Woester by bad weather CT side which eventually cleared. Did file a flight plan but one still has to contact ATC and get permission to enter the controlled airspace, but the problem was the mountains where in the way so I stuck my head in to the bottom of the controlled airspace and then established radio contact and was cleared in but when landed the ATC dudes called me  up to the tower and KUKKED me out in no uncertain terms, You do not enter controlled airspace without permission regardless let alone land on the frigging taxi way at a major airport.

Name and shame!

For the Mike Patey fans, the latest episode of his new plane build is up. Check it out, the guy's skills (and equipment) are unreal.

I follwed his whole build of Draco...and now can not wait to see what he does with Scrappy :-)

Also in the video - check out the air-boats. It's real redneck stuff, but I cannot believe that a prop-driven vehicle can get that kind of acceleration.
