If they are not allowed, then why is there even a discussion on the ebike thread about whether they should be allowed or not?

you talk about this path and that path like everyone knows which path is for which

i assume all paths are clearly marked so its all clear to a noob be it a cyclist a runner or a dog walker, they knows exactly which path is his to use

or do you need local knowledge based on usage to know?

There are just too many inconsiderate w@nkers, and "I" Specialists.

Cyclists, runners and Dog walkers all guilty AF.

I ride, run and walk the dogs in Delta park regularly.

MTB's on the dedicated walking path 2m to the right of the dedicated cycling path and now they between dogs and runners and it is chaos.

Yesterday dumbass trail runner running down the new berm line with earphones in, idiot when there is a wide runable line not dedicated to cyclists

Dog walkers- if the dog is off leash you better have it under control by verbal command, as well yesterday guy walking 2 dogs over the jumps in bot gardens when there is a path 3m away from cyclists to walk on. Dog nearly got run over when it decided to stop on the path fairly blind sighted section among trees.

Basically no one gives a **** about others. Have some consideration and just don't be a ****. Put the shoe on the other foot and see how k@k your actions can be.

It takes so little effort to walk your dogs off the main paths where there are less people.

Stick to the dedicated lanes when they are there and slow down when on sections that have to be shared by all. Not rocket science

Common sense, common logic and common courtesy- I strongly believe they forgot to teach the definition of common in schools the last 80 years

Anyone with earphones in exercises in public deserves a pk (unless on a wattbike or treadmill in gym where they influence no one)

My favourite in the greenbelts is when you are approaching a walker/runner from behind and, in as friendly a voice as you can, you say, "Passing on your right." and they promptly step ride to their right...

Hey, that happens at the CTCT as well if you start at the back...

  • 2 weeks later...

Got bitten this morning, or rather the dog attempted to bite me, the owner (who i think commented on this thread) claims the dog was playing.

In hindsight i should of put my foot to the dogs face, but it was a great opportunity and reminder that entitlement on table mountain is real.

In the end it's just not worth it... Sigh

I am taking a much more serious and aggressive fight towards dogs these days. If I see them come near me I uncleat and get ready for it. I have been bitten twice and had quite a bad accident once from a dog running in front of my front wheel. I will now take the dog out before it gets to me.

This is my 3rd time getting bitten on table mountain, i hope and pray i can keep it cool the next time it happens.

Mind you this time wasn't really as bad as before the dog attempted at my ankle didn't quite complete it's bite

Lay charges against that individual. Most City by law states you need to have full control of your dog in public area finished enough said.

You have more faith in the law than I do. I would rather just protect myself.

I also happen to know a gentleman who protected himself and his rescue dogs from someone elses dogs.He then got called a savage on the radio. He also then won cases with BCCSA for defamation. It is not a pretty situation for all involved trust me.

Don't  put foot, alot of dogs can bite your foot that way. Next time pepper spray or abuse the dog with your bicycle. There are leash laws and many people just ignore it. Also why you wont find my cycling tbl mnt

When the dog on the greenbelt took me out I broke my helmet and had a concussion. The owner just looked at me and shrugged his shoulders. One thing I know the next dog that goes for me is going to get it.

WTF no I'm sorry about that let me help you up?? Nudda? **** that would have made me get back on my bike and accidently on purpose ride into the dog owner hurt him and maybe myself and blame it on the concussion.

I encountered alot of dog walkers on the belts on Saturday but years of being an Argus delivery boy and knowing when that dog is going to attack you put my mind at ease..... I could see they weren't up for it.

I'm with you on the protect yourself though but previous posts on this thread also said take it slowly and don't scare the doggo's and you'd be fine.

The dogs just being a dog, you're just being you... You have to protect yourself. I don't reckon the dog will mind much if it catches a swift one after having a go at you - we're all just animals at the end of the day...

If the owner hasn't trained/leashed said dog they also deserve a klap.

Should all dogs be on a leash on the greenbelts?? I know I take my dog for a walk but never take her off the leash. I never use the greenbelt so don't know.

had a dog attempt to to bite me just last week on table mountain... poor dog. Im sure he has a XT mark on his head from my pedal.

I too have the hard stance against loose dogs... yes they get "excited" and thats exactly why you should keep them on the leash!

I have no shame in defending myself against an "excited dog".

Hope you will rather take the owner out who has to have his/her dog on a lead

Yes lets take it out on the dog that does not know better, let hit the dog because his owner is complete D005. Perfect human logic.
