I hear you but Bainskloof is almost a 10km climb, far tougher than anything else we do on the PPA calender. Will take anything in the range of 20min to 40min for riders in the early alphabet soup groups to do the climb. So people will be scattered by the time they crest, I don't foresee large groups bombing down on the Worcester side even though it's relatively early in the race.

Granted, but I know having ridden Franschoek pass and Du Toits pass at the TOGH, that groups do almost stick together. Then guys try make up time on the descent. There was a bad accident at TOGH on Franshoek in 2016 and thats an easy descent.

We also have zero technical descents on the PPA calendar, therefore fun riders have no experience. I know where we will be starting and riding it as a DC team.

So then it's a good thing that they start introducing technical descents?

My experience at this year's TOGH up Bains was that the sharp end of the group manage to stay together while us normal plebs scattered all over the place.

(That 14km of dirtroads on the map just wiped out a whole lot of my enthusiasm for the race - I also hope it's a mistake!)

Hopefully its wrong on the maps cause that is 14km of dirt road.

Rob Vogel just mentioned on twitter that they are not planning a gravel grinder One Tonner so most likely the route map is just slightly wrong

Very psyched for this one!

This will be my first time doing more than 115km ever... Any wise words and tips on how to complete this? Also any feedback on the weather and what it will be helping with or not on the day?

Dunno if I'm blind or just not looking at the right place. What is the correct route for the 110km?

Seems to me it is out on the R45 towards Malmesbury, onto the R302 towards Stellies, left on the R312 (at the Fruitsellers 4 way) towards Wellington , left on to the R44 past Windmeul, back to the start.

This is what I could figure out from the map supplied on the PPA website.

Am I correct with this?

I'd also like to know more about the 110km route. Does anyone have an idea?
